Our new hotel is scheduled to open October 2021!
We seek an experienced hotel Director of Sales & Marketing to lead all pre-opening sales efforts of our new 247-room hotel located in downtown Washington, DC. Primary responsibilities include prospecting and generating new business; developing and administering a marketing plan to achieve the highest possible occupancy, ADR and revenues; and promoting our hotel to both business and leisure travelers alike.

Outside/direct hotel sales management experience required. Branded hotel experience preferred.
Achieve pre-opening budgets and goals, while securing future business that will meet or exceed rate and occupancy goals.
Develop and manage department budget and hotel marketing plan. Generate top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget goals.
Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, National Sales Office and other sources.
Establish and maintain close contact with top and target accounts, through phone calls, tours, appointments, correspondence and entertainment. Network with prospects and established accounts to uncover other decision-makers.
Hire, train and manage sales team. Direct the team on rate and service decisions.
Able to work cohesively with other hotel departments and associates.
In partnership with revenue generation team, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive business plan that defines hotel sales, marketing, eCommerce, and social media objectives.
With the GM and Revenue Manager, develop, communicate and support revenue management strategies utilizing hotel inventory control and forecasting tools. Proactively position and market the hotel by effective revenue/yield management to achieve maximum hotel profit.
Be readily available for all guests. Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns, to achieve the highest levels of guest satisfaction. Assist operations in resolving guest complaints concerning the sales department.
Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings, training seminars, and other meetings as requested by the GM or Regional Team.
Ensure Brand and Company standards are achieved.
Must be goal oriented, creative, detail oriented, and able to work independently.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to use advanced computer systems (client tracking and forecasting tools).
Able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends and Holidays.
The Holiday Inn Express Washington DC Downtown is under construction and scheduled to open in Q2 2021! The new build hotel will offer 247 modern guest rooms and suites, and 800 sq feet of versatile meeting space. It is walking distance to the Washington DC Convention Center, Chinatown, and Capital One Arena.
