Responsible for the security of guests, visitors, property and assets, and staff.


This description of responsibilities is intended to provide basic guidance to outline a minimum standard of performance.

Essential Functions:   

  • Maintain full and accurate records associated with the complete function of the security role
  • Implement conjunction with the hotel management team security, loss control, key control, fire safety, occupational health, and safety
  • Conduct investigations into matters relating to cash, fire, accident, disruption, where theft/fraud/loss/injury/damage, etc., has or is suspected of having occurred
  • Liaise with the Human Resources Department to assist in work-related investigations of losses or claims by employees against the hotel
  • Regularly liaise with hotel department heads to promote the hotel's safe, secure, efficient, and harmonious operation and outlets
  • Gather information and execute procedures regarding security/fire/safety equipment
  • Emphasis is to be placed on storage and transportation of cash, key control, storage and handling of dangerous chemicals, personnel security, health, and safety

Education and Experience:

One year of security experience preferred. 

Language Skills:        

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, ability to write professional correspondence, ability to present one-on-one and small group situations to customers effectively, clients, and other staff members of the organization and hospitality community

Tools and Equipment:                                                                                                                  

  • Word and Excel Proficiency

Working Environment:

  • The work environment characteristics described here represent those a staff member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. They will need to spend a majority of their time on their feet

Physical Demands:                                  

Must be able to lift or move 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities are required by this job to see, read-write, and use a computer.
