About This Job

The Assistant General Manager directs and coordinates activities of the Front Office/Night Audit, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments, and aids General Manager in overall hotel operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigns duties to staff and observes performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  • Conducts weekly one-on-ones with department managers.

  • Prepares and maintains information related to internal and brand quality assurance evaluations.

  • Selects or assists in the selection of hotel staff and completes all new hire paperwork.

  • Reviews employee performance and conducts personnel actions such as disciplinary actions and terminations.

  • Maintains accurate records relative to Front Office Operations.

  • Conducts or assists in conducting staff meetings.

  • Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.

  • Receives and resolves or assists in resolving guest complaints and employee issues.

  • Performs functions of the General Manager in their absence.

  • Prepares payroll and assists with various accounting related tasks.

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years hotel management experience of varying departments
  • Hyatt experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated passion for hospitality and service
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
