•High School Diploma or GED is required
•Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
•1+ years events servicing experience is required.
•Marriott servicing experience is preferred!
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite is required.

•Responsible for planning all group meetings and conventions for the hotel
•Serve as the sole point of contact for customers from the moment of contract turnover to events through post-event
•Make contact with the client as soon as an event is Definite, maintain consistent contact through regular touchpoints with client, anticipate client needs before the client even knows what they need.
•Manage time with efficiency, set reminders for deadlines and cut-off dates and make client aware of the planning timeline at all steps in the planning process
•Responsible for managing guest room blocks, F&B menu selections, meeting room needs (set up and audio visual)
•Build and share reservation booking links, enter rooming lists, manage reservation changes, alert client to upcoming reservation cut-off date, release unused rooms on cut-off date.
•Offer knowledgeable insight on banquet menus and the preparation required to produce the product to best serve the client and maximize revenue for the hotel. Remind client of deadlines for food orders, and place food order with kitchen on time and with accuracy.
•Answer any client planning questions with urgency and thoroughness. Go above and beyond to offer creative solutions and alternatives
•Responsible for preparing all event documentation for clients and hotel team including but not limited to Event Orders, Resumes, and Event Checks
•Meet, greet and engage with clients/groups when they are on property
•Work hand in hand with other departments, such as the front desk, housekeeping, or outlets in order to accommodate special requests and unique needs
•Supervise banquet personnel to ensure Group and Catering functions are coordinated in a timely fashion and properly
•Distribute Resumes and Event Orders to all departments weekly, and lead weekly Resume and Event Order meeting for the hotel, communicating all details of upcoming programs to all departments
•Work with Accounting on group billing: share event checks, answer questions, let them know when to authorize/post charges.
•Award Marriott Bonvoy points to planners when applicable.
•Oversee the set up and breakdown of banquets and catering, ensuring proper storage of food and equipment
•Ensure that employees are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and all other employees.
•Maintain the high food quality standards in all food and beverage spaces and find ways to improve upon them.
•Always comply with Aloft Chicago Mag Mile standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
•Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
•Ensure that all employees practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employee
•Aid in the security of food items; ensure the storeroom and walk-ins are locked when not in use.
