To effectively assist food and beverage service, guest attention, and overall logistics of banquet events by way of set-up, clear communication and teamwork, while maintaining the Hilton Brand standard for excellence, resulting in the overall success of banquet events.
Set up banquet room(s) as instructed by the Banquet Captain to include necessary linen and china. All prep work must be completed that is assigned by the Captain necessary prior to event start time.
Must have memorized the Banquet Event Order for the room that is assigned to you by the Captain prior to the function start time. All servers must be present at the designated place 15 minutes prior to event start time.
Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Captain to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guest for overall satisfaction.
Once banquet is complete, all linen, silverware, china, and trays must be removed from banquet room. Kitchen must be completely cleaned and wiped down and all side duties must be completed. After completion, only after getting permission from the Banquet Captain is anyone allowed to go home.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Hilton rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
* Assist guests and other departments in any extra needs that they may need.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
* Basic understanding of any electronic equipment necessary to perform daily duties. For example; micros machine, telephone, hand held radio.
* Average mathematical comprehension to understand and interpret numbers as they apply to operations in hotels.
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
* Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with guests and employees.
* Ability to transport large trays/items weighing up to 50lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
