The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Laundry Manager with the daily laundry operation, ensuring that all areas have an adequate supply of clean, pressed linen as needed in the resort. The laundry supervisor is a "working" position and must fulfill dual responsibilities of laundry attendant and supervisor
High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience large volume resort or a related field required.
At least 2 years of progressive experience in a large volume Resort required.
Previous supervisor responsibility required.
License/Permits Required None
Required Skills Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bi-lingual skills preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Computer Hardware or Software None
Previous Experience Required Experience with properties (Hotels and Resorts) in excess of 500 rooms. Have a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day functions of all aspects of a resort are helpful but not required.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required, including weekends and holidays.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift up to 8 hours.

Essential Duties & Functions
Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Kalahari Resort standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
Comply at all times with Kalahari Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow associates.
Manage daily linen requisitions.
Verify all laundry is washed and folded.
Coordinate pre-treating of soiled linen as necessary.
Manage monthly linen inventory, including records of all damaged and stained linen.
Ensure that stained linens are being properly pre-treated.
Verify that lint filters are cleaned at each shift.
Verify that dryers, washers and other equipment are kept clean and maintained.
Maintain laundry shelves in a clean and orderly condition.
Keep laundry room floors clean and safe.
Compiling and completing reports and linen loss, turnover, par levels, and purchase orders and forwarding to the Rooms Division Manager and/or General Manager.
Participate and at times conduct pre-shift and routine (monthly) staff meetings and Daily Promise meetings.
Train staff on handling and safe operation of chemicals.
Verify that the associate handbook rules and procedures are followed.
Interview, Review, Coach, Teach and Train all Laundry associates.
Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests and fellow associates.
Perform all duties of Laundry Attendant.
Check machines daily to ensure proper working order. Contact supplier to perform regular check and train staff on new procedures/products.
Assign tasks to laundry personnel and monitor their progress.
Complete daily payroll and pay period summaries.
Maintain associate time records and schedules in accordance with resort procedure.
Observe report and assist in correcting linen abuse.
Directly supervises all Laundry Attendants and monitors breaks.
Attend meetings/trainings as required by management.
Perform other duties as requested from management.
