The Night Audit Manager is responsible for administrating the night audit process under the direction of the Director of Front Office Operations.  This position also is responsible for managing all Hotel Operations during the night shift.

Responsible for the effective management of the Night Audit Team.  Ensure an accurate and complete audit process on a nightly basis.  Ensure that guest service standards are adhered to and that all operational considerations are handled in an expedient and professional manner.

Job Requirements

Pacific Palms Resort is seeking a Night Audit Manager with Hospitality industry experience.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Hire, train, develop and motivate all employees in the Department
  • Closely monitor all employees’ performance to ensure productivity and adherence to Resort policy and procedure
  • Make necessary adjustments to the staff as required in order to maintain the highest level of accuracy, productivity, and guest service.
  • Accurate generation of the DSR on a nightly basis.
  • Mentorship and development of the relief night auditors
  • Ensure entire Night Audit process is performed as required
  • Act as nightly MOD ensuring that resort policy and procedure is adhered to at all times and by all departments
  • Generate a nightly MOD report recapping any unusual activity
  • Communicate daily with the accounting office and/or Front Office Manager regarding an areas of concern from the previous night
  • Document deficiencies in cashier’s paperwork in order for Outlet Managers to hold them accountable.
  • Ensure all room rate postings are correct and complete a Group Room Posting Recap report
  • Ensure all required reports are run
  • Ensure proper Opera back ups are performed
  •  Must understand, know and follow all standard operating procedures for the Front Office
  • Always practice extraordinary customer service
  • Protect the assets of the property.
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior when in contact with customers and co-workers.
  • Follow policies and procedures in training manuals and employee handbook.

  • Handle all emergency situations appropriately ensuring adherence to all procedures
  • Ensure productivity of Security, Engineering and Night Cleaning Crew on a nightly basis.  Address issues swiftly and professionally and report to appropriate department heads ASAP.
  • Additional projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Assist the Accounting Department however possible
  • Support all Departments as required
  • Support the Sales Department in marketing effort with implementation of effective cross marketing strategies
  • Proficient in the use of Computer Software Programs to include but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Property Management Software and POS system experience
  • Strong analytical abilities and detail orientation
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, mentor and develop a team
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Excellent Guest Service skills
  • Any and all reasonable requests of management

Knowledge Required:

  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary
  •  Computer Skills in Microsoft Office applications and other hotel related software.
  •  Opera experience a plus.

Experience Required: 3-5 years experience in supervisory or management position, with emphasis in Accounting or Front Office Administration, preferably in the hotel / resort industry

Must be able to work 11pm. to 7:30am. varied days.
 Strong math aptitude. Must be computer literate and have some experience with basic accounting procedures. Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service attitude at all times. Able to perform daily tasks in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner. Able to use "good" judgement. Able to calculate discounts, interest, commissions and percentages.
