Public Area Attendant
Direct Report: Executive Housekeeping Manager / Housekeeping Manager.
About the Position
Responsible for providing clean and immaculate public areas throughout the hotel, including lobby, public restrooms, hallways, corridors and the hotel front entrance.
Ensures complete guest satisfaction.
Responsible for ensuring that Quality Standards and Service are maintained for Property, Product, People and Brand expectations.
Responsible for frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of all areas of hotel, including guest and employee spaces.
Responsible for cleaning offices, front entrance doors, public areas, break rooms and restrooms that include sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents and or floors with cleaning agents by extending arms over head to reach all above areas.
Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
Responsible for thoroughly dusting all furniture, pictures, and shelves, extending arms over head, bending and stooping as needed.
Responsible for thoroughly cleaning and polishing all metal surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion.
Must attend elevator lobby and continually sanitize and disinfect high touch points and areas.
Direct guests to follow all Health and Safety requirements and to practice social distancing measures.
Responsible for developing a critical eye for detail and perfection.
Responsible for performing “other duties” as assigned by management
Education & Experience
Must have basic knowledge of sanitation requirements/controls and applications of relevant chemicals.
Must have knowledge of Brand Standards and Corporate policies applicable to housekeeping, especially those relating to safety and security of guest and hotel property.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned area.
Manual dexterity and coordination to operate cleaning equipment.
Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Respond to visual and aural cues.
Work in cold & hot temperatures.
Possibly be exposed to secondhand smoke.
Health & Safety Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
Employees must always wash and/or sanitize their hands and work area as frequently as possible and use a face mask/face shield during working hours. It is a requirement for all employees to follow all hotel Health and Safety Guidelines.
Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 50 lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
