About This Job

As an HR Generalist, you will interact and collaborate with the Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort stakeholders, partners, and employees. You’ll apply your skills and abilities to support Human Resources programs that build sustainable business operations. Reporting to the HR Director, this position requires the continuous use of sound, independent judgment, and discretion for matters of importance related to HR.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • You will oversee the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding, including background checks, payroll, data entry, document generation, and processing.
  • You will be the first point of contact for employee questions and escalate issues to other members of the team, if appropriate.
  • Processes Payroll: Reviews Timesheets. Process/print checks (as needed)  Process commission/service charge and gratuity reports for payroll inclusion.
  • Oversees Workmen’s Comp.
  • Track sick and vacation leave and other federal and state leaves (FMLA and Workers Compensation)
  • Leverage recruitment best practices to develop effective outreach and communication strategies, creative recruitment campaigns, and onboarding.
  • Conduct end-to-end recruitment process: posting jobs, screening & evaluating candidates, managing relationships with stakeholders, serving as an advisor to hiring managers and ensuring the interview process is inclusive.
  • Deliver New Hire Benefit Onboarding Presentations.
  • Provide guidance to employees on interpretation/application of company policies linked to leaves of absence.
  • Coach managers on employee performance and development efforts, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Plan and organize initiatives within the department. Participate in developing department goals and systems.
  • You will execute HR operational processes and services.
  • You will document, maintain and communicate core processes to stakeholders, managers, and employees.
  • You will identify and drive process improvement efforts, leveraging systems and tools to automate and eliminate manual work where possible and financially feasible.
  • You will contribute to authoring and editing internal communications.
  • Create forms and reporting systems using Google Docs and other internal online systems.
  • You will support reporting, auditing, and data initiatives per Controller's direction.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field and three to five years human resource experience in hospitality/tourism industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR, or SHRM Certification a plus.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Successful record of implementing recruitment and onboarding.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, and information systems.
  • Working knowledge of Federal employment laws: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, I-9, and EEO.
  • Proficient presentation skills, experienced developing and conducting training on company policies, performance management.
  • Experience in training facilitation and delivery.
  • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with proficiency in utilizing Google Business Apps, and MS Office products.
  • Financial aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Experience working for small to mid-size companies with shifting priorities
  • Integrity and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Customer service-oriented, collaborative nature, a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver on tight deadlines.

Salary $55-60K DOE

Candidates must be based in the USA. Preferred location; Washington. 

compensation: $55,000-$60,000 DOE
