About This Job

JOB OVERVIEW:  Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Solicit new accounts and maintain and strengthen relationships with existing accounts
  2. Generate a minimum of 50 calls weekly encompassing telemarketing, site inspections, and outside field calls with weekly documentation
  3. Responsible for prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing
  4. Meet with or call individual, corporate, and social clients by telephone to solicit annual, weekday, and weekend business
  5. Meet with clients and conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with them exhibiting the key features and benefits of the hotel
  6. Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients
  7. Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as, organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events
  8. Work to continuous meet or exceed sales goals
  9. Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings
  10. Take full ownership of all functions such as processing payment
  11. Provide prompt guest service and timely follow up with prospective clients
  12. Participate as a team player with other key leaders and demonstrate hospitable behavior as a role model for all other team members
  13. Develop full working knowledge of the operations of the Catering Events, including Food and Beverage Department, Guest Services, and Housekeepin

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints. Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent.  Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
