About This Job

The market and shop attendant would be responsible for:

  1. Greet customers when they enter the market.
  2. Offer assistance in locating merchandise and respond to questions regarding merchandise.
  3. Display merchandise in a neat, eye-appealing manner.
  4. Restock items as necessary, check expiration dates, and discard expired items.
  5. Collect payment from the guests
  6. Ensuring cleanliness of work and storage areas.
  7. Ability to work independently in an unsupervised position.
  8. Able to stand for long periods of time during the day
  9. Complete customer purchases, process all payment types, and process returns, refunds, and exchanges. Verify customer identification as required.
  10. Maintain appropriate cash levels in the cash drawer, turn in all property monies and receipts, and ensure deposits/cash drops are verified. Follow the checklist for opening and closing the shop.
  11. Secure market and monitor customer activity to prevent losses due to merchandise theft and damage.
  12. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  13. Professionally conduct self with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.

The person in this position must work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend work is required as schedule demands. Must have experience with computers / cashiering and customer service.

Must be able to push and pull carts and lift boxes to 25 lbs.

Additional physical, visual and working requirements:

Stand for long periods of time.

Walk extended distances.

Lift/carry 6-25 lbs.

Certifications required:

FoodSafety Handler

CA TIPS Alcohol
