The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Project Manager to join our business relationship management team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion ofprojects ensuring consistency with company strategy, standards, architecture and department commitments. This includes partnering with a wide variety of business units and programs. The PM will manage scope, cost and schedule through creating and maintaining project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, status updates and resource allocation. PM will facilitate risk, change and integration management.  PM will track, monitor and record validation from project teams with regards to quality assurance and Legal and IT compliance. 

  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects including major Point of Sale implementations from new stadium constructions and enterprise software installation to new solution evaluations and unit acquisitions.
  • Forecast resource allocation requirements: define project tasks and resource requirements as key inputs into weekly IT forecast meetings.
  • Define the responsibilities of parties involved in the project including customers, management, IT management, project team, vendors, and others affected by the project.
  • Comply and enforce IT and company-wide policies and procedures.
  • Execute project initiatives driving successful project completion including organizing and conducting project team meetings, project kick-off meetings, and setting expectations related to team meetings with sub-teams.
  • Identify, track, monitor, escalate and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of IT projects. 
  • Develop risk plan, facilitate contingency plan actions, conduct regular risk analysis reviews.
  • Implement proposed budgets and manage operational costs; conduct near and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years of project management experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of theoretical with practical application of project project management.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
  • Direct work experience in program and project management capacity.
  • Proven experience in risk identification, management, mitigation, and change management.
  • JIRA and Confluence software experience is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel 25 percent and work extended hours with increased travel during times of executing high priority or strategic initiatives.
