About This Job

The VP of People & Culture is responsible for determining and providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development and compensation. The VP of People & Culture is responsible for leading and managing team member communications, team member relations, policy development, legal compliance, risk management, compensation and benefits. Is responsible for nurturing, shaping and sustaining the overall company cultural strategy for the company. The VP of People & Culture will work closely with executive leadership to make culture a strong component of the company’s overall business strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organizations people and culture and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the property people and culture directors; assists with resolution of people and culture, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
  • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Develop and lead a diverse recruiting strategy.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for developing and retaining best-in-class talent.
  • Ensure talent acquisition processes includes all associates experience a comprehensive onboarding process and clear understanding of job roles and responsibilities.
  • Build and expand relationships with external recruitment agencies, hospitality programs and culinary schools, colleges, building awareness of Makeready

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters or law degree highly preferred.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
