Position Summary:

Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd. is seeking an outgoing, experienced and energetic sales professional who will be responsible for the

overall collegiate sports sales effort at our area hotels. This role focuses on proactively prospecting, qualifying, and building

relationships with new and existing accounts to gain new business opportunities that will drive top line revenues, increase market share,

and contribute to the overall profitability of the hotel(s).

Responsible for a multi-property (hotel) sales and marketing effort. Advocate and participate in the seamless communication between

sales and operations to ensure the success of the sales efforts and customer satisfaction. Collaborate, coordinate, execute and

measure the results of strategies and processes that drive top line revenues, market share and profitability to the hotel. Demonstrate

effective internal and external communication, advocate an enthusiastic, professional work environment, and elevate our overall

customer experience.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Drive amateur/professional/collegiate sports group revenue into hotels by proactively soliciting new business opportunities

• Strategically plan and execute account strategies, sales initiatives and incentives that drive business and groups to the hotels

• Performance accountability through goal and activity achievement, including weekly reporting.

• Shift market share and help hotel(s) be a leader in their respective comp sets, while providing excellent client interactions and

long-term relationships.

• Manage key account and sponsor relationships including but not limited to NC State Athletics and IMG/Learfield sports

marketing.

• Build and maintain strong account relationships with local and feeder sports clubs, organizations and athletic departments with

universities travel into our hotel markets

• Work effectively with upper management to communicate, collaborate and support the company/hotel objectives.

• Increase hotel revenues, ADR, RevPar weekend business & Essoc.

• Advocate service excellence, teamwork and an environment to have fun, learn and succeed.

• Continual professional development to enhance performance, effectiveness and sharpening of both professional and personal

skills.

Job Tasks:

• Proactively solicit new business through prospecting calls, site tours, appointments, customer events and trade show

participation, and by analyzing Operational Reports

• Saturate local and feeder markets by having an active presence in the community

• Continue to grow existing account portfolio; while constantly seeking new accounts

• Execute the account initiatives from the market and hotel sales & marketing business plan

• Expected to have a comprehensive understanding of Marriott systems and utilize to advocate business needs for our hotels

• Track week sales activity, bookings and accurate account information into Delphi FDC report out during weekly team meetings

• Keep up to date and adhere to brand sales initiative, strategies, trainings, systems and corporate policies and procedures

• Attend and actively participate in relevant networking organizations

• Develop strong business partnerships that provide leads, referrals, community awareness and direct sales

• Communicate professionally, clearly and concisely in all written and verbal communication

Job Qualifications:

• 3+ years hotel industry sales experience

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while providing efficient solutions

• A proven record to close business in order to exceed individual revenue goal.

• Ability to identify opportunities that benefit both clients and hotels

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing accounts

• Creative and entrepreneurial spirit is desired and key to the success and growth within this market segment

Work Environment:

• Hotel properties 90-175 rooms plus meeting space and F&B, for which the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, or

hear in person and by telecommunication devices, video, operate computers, and other standard office equipment, interact

with clients and guests as well as hotel General Manager(s) and staff, company corporate management, external business

sources, Chamber of Commerce, and other community organizations; valid driver’s license.
