The Small Group Sales Manager (10 to 200 Rooms) handles special accounts or a specific role, carry an account base or a quota, and typically handle less complex accounts. This individual is responsible for developing new leads and researches new business potential within an assigned market, and makes direct calls to potential clients and manages internet based lead websites. Other responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate.This position manages booking short term meetings for the hotel and is fast paced.

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.

  • 2+ years previous hotel experience in Sales

  • Experience in a medium size hotel (10,000sq of meeting space and above)

  • Minimum 2-year associates degree (prefer 4-year degree)

  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training

  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
