Job Summary:

Assumes responsibility for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting Ballys portfolio of products to include meeting and conventions space.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages customer relationships from account turnover through successful execution of events.
  • Monitors all contractual agreements pertaining to guest room blocks, meeting space, food and beverage and special concessions.
  • Reviews sales contracts and understands group requirements regarding room block, cut-off date, special concessions, attrition clauses and meeting space requirements.
  • Verifies billing information submitted at point of turnover to include estimated amount of billing, billing type and appropriate contact and update information.
  • Plans, upsells and details the program with the client including verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations etc.
  • Works with third party companies such as exposition and décor companies on clients behalf.
  • Partners with Banquet operations team to ensure room sets are correct and events are executed as expected by clients.
  • Maintain detailed files, records, and accurate recording of information in Delphi regarding correspondence with clients as well as forecasting and consumption.
  • Conducts site visits, customer entertainment events, planning meetings and re-booking of future events.
  • Communicates to all hotel departments the information necessary to successfully execute the groups needs while maintaining a good client relationship.
  • Anticipates and handles customer complaints or problems to ensure quality product delivery, customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assists the Sales team and sales efforts regarding both repeat and new groups.
  • Understands the Collective Bargaining Agreement and works with union and Human Resources following proper processes with complaints and grievances.
  • Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, and job performance for any direct reports.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Must possess a minimum of eight years experience in the flawless delivery of Catering/Convention services.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in groups catering and related sales of additional amenities.
