Job Summary

Responsible for providing a positive receiving clerk and guest experience in retail outlets that exceeds expectations through effective and efficient retail operations.

Education Requirements
: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required Skills
: Basic business administration and general knowledge of principles and practices of a retail environment preferred.

Knowledge of Computer Hardware or Software

Micros, Eatec, computer knowledge& other office equipment knowledge preferred.

Previous Experience Required
:

Experience in retail, receiving, customer service or sales environment preferred.

Physical Requirements
:

Possible heavy inventory workloads; exerting up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Maintain a high-energy level to be able to stand on your feet throughout the day on the retail/sales floor and/or receiving dock area.

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Check in all new merchandise. Call for correct/updated invoice based on shipments received. Receive merchandise through Eatec.
  • Receive Holiday Wholesale/Amster Kirtz orders weekly.
  • Receive Coca Cola product orders.
  • Call vendors for Call Tags when needed and assure items are picked up in a timely manner.
  • Take all invoices, packing slips, Purchase Orders to Finance at end of each day.
  • Keep copies of PO's/Invoices and file as received by Vendors.
  • Keep stockroom clean and organized at all times.
  • Keep count slips updated and correct at all times.
  • Shift old merchandise to front of stockroom to rotate into outlets.
  • Notify Management when inventory is low on specific merchandise and/or turn in count slips once all merchandise is taken to the outlets and no back stock is left in stockrooms.
  • Sort through all damaged merchandise in a neat order, all together.
  • Provide inventory counts overnight on the last day of each month.
  • Work with requisitions and stocking outlets.
  • Price barcodes for associates in stores when needed.
  • Be present Monday through Friday 8am-4pm to clear hallways during dock hours.
  • Open and close Micros system as a backup.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges and security practices.
  • Maintain records related to sales.
  • Watch for and recognize safety risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires, providing up-selling opportunities when appropriate.
  • Answer questions regarding the store, resort, and merchandise.
  • Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to associates. Ticket, prepare, price, and maintain merchandise.
  • Clean shelves, counters, tables, and windows as needed.
  • Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returns.
  • Bag or package purchases. Inventory stock and transfer new stock to stores.
  • Participate in taking monthly inventory.
  • Able to transfer product store-to-store or process damage out product (w/correct forms).
