Description

The Data Governance Project Manager will work closely with a wide array of cross functional partners including engineering, data product managers, legal and cyber security to meet data governance requirements through priority pre-identified and emergent initiatives at Hyatt.

We are looking for highly motivated candidate with past experience as a Strategy Consultant, Analytic Consultant or Data Analyst, equally strong in analytic skills and communication, who is excited about leveraging their skills and ideas to transform the use of data at Hyatt.  

The role will lead cross-functional project teams on critical and often highly visible, highly collaborative project initiatives.

This candidate builds fantastic relationships across all levels of the organization and is recognized as a problem solver who looks to elevate and accelerate the work of everyone around them.  Core initiatives already pre-identified as critical are as follows while others are expected to emerge:

  • Work with business teams to complete an inventory of all personal information contained on guests, customers, etc. at Hyatt to enable various identity resolution and consolidation efforts
  • Work with legal and cyber partners to monitor the inventory of data assets and business processes and use of personal information and lead work teams that resolve issues identified through this work
  • Support robust curation of Enterprise Data Catalog by Data Stewards and Data Engineers by leading facilitated working sessions on individual data topics
  • Working with business and data teams, develop and maintain ‘smart’ data attribution system within the Catalog to facilitate its use/impact
  • Design and enforce contract policy involving the transfer of data in and out of Hyatt ensuring the contracts themselves contain required Governance elements, adhere to Governance policies and receive appropriate reviews, and are referenced by in-line staff as new data requests are made
  • Conduct analysis to support guest/customer identification and consolidation efforts for varying use cases
  • Reinforce best practices and policies in partnership with stakeholders
  • Audit operating model/data product management requirements to ensure data quality parameters, monitoring, alerts are part of product requirements entering new product development Sprint Cycles

Qualifications

Requirements

 

  • 4+ years of work experience in a data-oriented or consulting field
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and report simultaneously across different stakeholders
  • Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience and comfort solving problems in an ambiguous environment where there is constant change
  • Have the tenacity to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, inspire change, and collaborate with a variety of individuals and organizational partners
  • Flexible nature; ability to quickly adapt to feedback or requirements changes
  • Direct and experience gathering business requirements, designing complex data analysis to meet a business need, with the ability to execute the analysis as needed
  • Direct and extensive experience with analyzing large volumes of data to derive actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to express (visually and verbally) the implications of analytic results with clarity and persuasiveness in an audience appropriate manner
  • Experience with diagnosing and coaching/training others in process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot/conduct root cause analysis for technical and data issues
  • Passionate about learning new technologies or about new vendor capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Highly skilled in creating executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient in SQL; Python a plus
  • Highly proficient in Excel and experience with Tableau and Alteryx a plus
