POSITION REPORTS TO: Food Services Manager, Restaurant Manager

Job Summary

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for supervising the restaurant and concession staff, overseeing restaurant operations, ensuring the utmost in efficiency and service. Inventories, restocks, and keeps restaurant and concession areas running smoothly. Assists with training, schedules, disciplines and recommends termination of staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Muckleshoot Casino.

2. Supervise food service and concession team members.

3. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and team member morale.

4. Monitor staff performance to ensure compliance with all phases of service, sanitation and safety procedures.

5. Recommend and assist in team member evaluations and discipline.

6. Respond to callout's, adjust staffing to ensure appropriate coverage.

7. Ensure all orders are delivered within designated timelines.

8. Ensure dining room is kept neat and clean.

9. Ensure proper procedures are adhered to while handling emergency situations.

10. Inform staff of daily specials and special events, programs, or new policies.

11. Ensure food products are up to standards and served on time.

12. Monitor all cash register and cash handling functions to ensure Point of Sale (POS) compliance.

13. Responsible for daily receipts and monthly inventories.

14. Resolve guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.

15. Train new team members; supervise ongoing training as necessary.

16. Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment and promote positive public relations to the public.

17. Smile and engage Guests and Team Members with a positive professional demeanor.

18. Perform other duties as assigned.

EXTENT OF JOB AUTHORITY: Supervisor has authority over dining room operations and concession areas. May assume supervisory duties of the bars, lounges and banquet facilities, on an as needed basis, in the absence of the designated supervisor

Licenses Or Certifications (Required/Preferred)

  • Required to have and maintain a valid WA State Health card/Food Handlers permit.
  • Required to have and maintain a Class 12 Liquor License.

Education, Experience, And Training For Position (Required/Preferred)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years' experience in Food service with at least one (1) year managerial or supervisory experience required.

Physical

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by team member to successfully perform essential functions of this job. Shift work, holidays, weekends, or nights may be assigned.

Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.

Regularly required to lift/move, up to one hundred (100) pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.) and reaching with

hands and arms use hands to grasp, and have finger dexterity to handle objects, tools, or controls. Exposure to both extreme Hot and Cold temperatures, equipment, and substances and regularly required to work in tight, high or confined spaces.

Specific vision ability includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Manual dexterity to operate office or required equipment and examine or update documents, records, data, instructions, logs, and files.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing functions of his/her job and in areas monitored by security or surveillance cameras. Work in casino operations and/or internal or external environments occasionally. Exposure to secondhand smoke, moderate to high noise level, bright lights, fluctuating temperatures/weather conditions.

About Us

The Muckleshoot Tribe is part of the widespread Coast Salish culture that has long called the Puget Sound Region home. The Muckleshoots and their ancestors have lived in the area continuously for thousands of years. Prior to their forced relocation to the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation,a result of the government treaty of the 1850’s,the Tribes homeland encompassed a vast area ranging from Mount Rainier to the salt waters of Puget Sound.
 
As with their Coast Salish neighbors, the salmon plays a central role in the economic, social, spiritual and ceremonial life of the Muckleshoot people. In recent years the Tribe has been at the forefront of efforts to protect endangered salmon runs, elk herds, and other natural resources. Education is also a top priority. The Muckleshoot Tribal School and the Muckleshoot Tribal College, along with a wide array of related programs, help to ensure that todays Muckleshoot youth will be well prepared to guide the Tribe when it is their turn to lead.
 
The Tribe is also striving to preserve its ancient culture and language. A few years ago, it was feared that the last of the Tribes native speakers would soon pass from this Earth. However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of its educators and Tribal Elders, the voices of the children can once again be heard speaking Wuhlshootseed, which for a millennia was the primary language of Puget Sound. The Muckleshoot Indian Reservation, consisting of 3,860 acres,is located about 30 miles southeast of Seattle. A nine member elected Tribal Council provides governance for the Tribe. With over 200 Tribal Government employees and a gaming employment work force of over 2,200, todays the tribe is South King County’s #2 employer and a growing economic force in the region.
