Description

The Compliance Manager directs and oversees all operations of the Compliance Office. Ensures compliance with governing rules, regulations and company policies. Perform Investigative functions. Monitors compliance with Title 31/BSA. Ensures compliance with reporting requirements. Performs office work as it directly relates to the general business of compliance with governing rules, regulations, and company policies.

Must exercise discretion and independent judgment as it relates to the overall structure of DMC. Compliance Systems, investigations, and the evaluation of instances on non-compliance and providing effective recommendations for corrective action. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance w/governing rules, regulations and company policies.
  • Assist department managers in developing and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate the Casino’s physical security systems and department policies and procedures for effective asset protection.
  • Conducts random inspections of all areas of the casino to ensure compliance with governing rules, regulations and company policies.
  • Oversees the Monitoring System for Incident Management to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Ensure Title 31 procedure manuals & documents are current and available to employees.
  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls relative to Title 31/BSA.
  • Review and evaluate Title 31/BSA for compliance,
  • Maintain records in compliance with record retention provisions.

Performs the following investigative functions

  • Investigates reports of non-compliance
  • Conducts Interviews
  • Writes investigative reports
  • Monitors closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • Has viewing & report generating right to authorized computer systems
  • Has access to all sensitive and non-sensitive areas w/security escort when required.
  • Maintains knowledge & compliance with governing: rules, regulations and policies & procedures.
  • Acts as liaison with other casinos and law enforcement agencies.

Requirements

Knowledge and Certification, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and Certification Required

  • 2 year Criminal Justice degree, or a 4 year College Degree (BA) is required, preferably in Social Science
  • Experience or Training in Security, Law Enforcement, loss preventions and/or other related fields
  • Knowledge of procedures and legal requirements on developing criminal case through collection and documentation of evidence
  • Experience in conducting investigations and documenting the results for criminal proceedings
  • Counseling or work relates experience
  • Some computer knowledge or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required to maintain confidentiality.

Skills Required

  • Read, interpret documents such as: safety rules, ordinances, and policies and procedure manuals.
  • Communicate well in writing.
  • Speak effectively before large audiences.
  • Apply basic concepts of basic algebra.
  • Apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardizing situations.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, promotions, percentages, and circumference and volume.
  • Maintain good people skills.
  • Maintain appropriate dress code.
  • Perform other functions and required.

Abilities Required

  • Must be licensable by SWO Gaming Commission.
  • Must complete a 90 day probationary period.
  • Must work a 40 hour work week unless vacation, paid time off, or sick leave is taken.
  • Will be required to work all shifts as needed to conduct interviews or monitor compliance.

Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs.  Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
