The Assistant Event Services Manager is responsible for effectively and proactively monitoring the daily functions of the Event Services Department by ensuring coordination and execution of all hotel events in the hotel’s 130,000 square feet of event space. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to scheduling, training, coaching/counseling, communication and coordination with the events and sales department and guest interaction. The Assistant Event Services Manager works very closely with the Event Set Up Department in ensuring rooms are set to meet and exceed guest expectations. This also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments and to ensure a successful and effective event resulting in a positive guest experience. This person must have good communication & leadership skills as well as the ability to lift moderate weight. This position requires strong communication skills, ability to problem solve, strong customer service orientation, effective teamwork and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

This position may also be asked to assist in F&B Outlet operations as needed.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal communication skills and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Hotel experience and previous leadership experience in Event Services/Event-Set Up preferred
