About the role...

We’re looking for an international marketing guru who is forward thinking and understands the nuances of building a global brand through a robust big data strategy.  This is a role that requires just the right balance of creativity and analysis, so go ahead and turn on both sides of your brain.  The ideal individual has previous C-suite experience leading international and geographically diverse teams in the lifestyle or luxury hotel space.  They must be able to work with all verticals, with a heavy focus on Social/ Digital media, website design, and understand direct sales, group sales and Public Relations.  This individual will work with the broader leadership team to help develop key strategic initiatives, develop product ideas, analyze market trends, oversee customer-facing marketing collateral, and everything else related to the SH Hotels and Resorts brand image. You’ll continue to lead and inspire the existing, innovative marketing team and will thrive on communication, consideration and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Define, measure, and report the performance of all marketing channels/ campaigns and assess against ROI and KPI goals including subscriber acquisition and retention.
  • “Listen” to the trends of the market and direct the market research efforts of the company.
  • Work closely with other departments to guide a unified approach to the customer experience journey that meets market demands.
  • Set clear strategy for a holistic marketing approach, understanding the target audiences
  • Develop clear marketing, sales and communication strategies
  • Bring our brand(s) to life in a way that resonates with and motivates our target audience through consistent and relevant messaging
  • Oversee outbound guest and internal facing communications across our website, blog, and social channels.
  • Oversee the company’s media relations including public relations, social media and all methods of advertising
  • Supervise the company’s market research, community relations and guest service.
  • Drives daily execution and enhancement of the company’s overall marketing strategy.
  • Analyze the competition and reviews results of market research adjusting the company’s marketing strategy accordingly.
  • Provide support in the design and production of visual marketing tools.
  • Communicate with industry experts and leverages their knowledge for the company’s benefit.
  • Handle corporate communications to deliver a consistent message for each brand vertical.
  • Develop new business relationships and strengthen existing ones.
  • Heighten awareness of the company in the community and marketplace.
  • Negotiate advertising contracts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of high-performing, results-oriented marketers across a broad set of functions including product marketing, partner marketing, content and brand
  • Establish SH Hotels and Resorts as a destination of choice for both leisure and corporate travelers
  • Identify market potentials and data analytics by leading market and customer research.
  • Develop a scalable growth strategy while also optimizing a blend of channels to hit growth targets efficiently.
  • Manage guest segmentation strategy and develop smart attribution modeling, ensuring we reach the right audience with the right message that captures the SH Hotel Brands Mission and Vision.
  • Understand changing market dynamics and prepares the company by developing and implementing strategies to meet the changes in the marketplace.

Requirements and skills

  • Must be willing to be based in Miami.  Non-negotiable.
  • 2+ years as CMO, 15+ years of experience
  • Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, product promotion etc.)
  • Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods
  • Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g., social media) and non-digital (e.g., press) channels
  • Has extensive knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Display excellent project management abilities.
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation abilities.
  • Has the ability to motivate and inspire sales and marketing staff.
  • Adjust to change smoothly and rapidly.
  • Exhibit superior organizational skills and strategic planning abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a team and relationships with other leaders. 
  • Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
  • A leader with both creative and analytical capabilities
