Be a part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA, Conrad Los Angeles! As part of the highly anticipated billion-dollar project, The Grand LA, this will be the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California.

Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development to come to DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel will have over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a signature restaurant, outdoor restaurant, lobby bar, and in-room diningall in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-wining restaurant group, ThinkFoodGroup.

The Grand LA combines lifestyle, arts, and culture to provide a truly unique experience in Los Angeles. It is at the epicenter of downtown LA’s cultural corridor across from the Walt Disney Concert Hall with two towers, a 45-story residential and 28-story hotel, and more than 176,000 square feet of retail space anchored by chef-driven restaurants and a collection of shops, entertainment, and hospitality.

In this role as a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

The Ideal candidate will have a minimum of (5) years of pastry/baking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Advanced degree or specialized training highly desirable. The ideal candidate must possess skills in creating, preparing/producing and decorating pastries and cakes. Knowledge in knife handling, pastry & baked goods. The ideal candidate must have good organizational skill. Be a great team player. Be able to work within a confined space. Be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Follow recipes and be able to duplicate tasks with consistent execution.

What will I be doing?

  • Creates, prepares/produces/bakes all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for restaurants and banquets. Decorates pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration of same.
  • Ensures spoilage/waste are kept to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products. Develop new products for a la carte and catering menus on a rotating basis.
  • Lines up baked products in mobile carts according to the needs of the particular outlet/function.
  • Set daily pars on all products to ensure freshness.
  • Assists in the professional development of apprentices and bakers.
