About This Job

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures the dining room, bar, lobby lounge, and service area are clean, sanitized, stocked and visually appealing. Including wiping down tables, bar counters, booths and chairs. Sweeps and mops as necessary.
  • Maintains stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment, including silverware, glassware, share plates, folded linen/napkins and condiments.
  • Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
  • Folds napkins throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Transports all dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Transports all dirty glassware to bar dishwasher machine. Wash, polish and restock glassware.
  • Performs all assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
  • Greets and interacts with guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Assists servers and bartenders with food and beverage service to make sure guests have what they need.
  • Assists in recycling glass bottles.
  • Takes out trash.
  • Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning unexpected spills, handling special guest requests, and greeting and seating guests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Opening tasks:

  • Bus any dirty tables and surfaces
  • Wipe down tables, counters, booths and chairs in dining room, bar, lobby lounge, and service area. Sweeps and mops as necessary
  • Bring clean silverware from dish room to restock. Polish silverware
  • Restock and polish share plates
  • Wash and restock glassware in bar
  • Fold napkins
  • Set up votives in dining room. Light them at dusk.

Ongoing tasks throughout the shift:

  • Transports all dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Transports all dirty glassware to bar dishwasher machine. Wash, polish and restock glassware.
  • Bring silverware from dishroom to restock. Polish silverware
  • Restock and polish share plates
  • Wash and restock glassware in bar
  • Fold napkins
  • Assists servers and bartenders with food and beverage service to make sure guests have what they need.
  • Assists in recycling glass bottles

Closing the shift:

  • Collect votives and store them
  • Bus any dirty tables and surfaces.
  • Transports all dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Wipe down tables, counters, booths and chairs in dining room, bar, lobby lounge, and service area. Sweeps and mops as necessary
  • Transports all dirty glassware to bar dishwasher machine. Wash, polish and restock glassware.
  • Recycle glass bottles. Take out trash.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English.  Self-starting personality with an even disposition.  Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.        Can communicate well with guests.  Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.  Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.  Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent.  Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
