The Banquet Captain leads and trains the banquet staff. The Banquet Captain sets up, serves and breaks down banquets in safe and efficient compliance with proper food handling, policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations.
The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
The Banquet Captain is responsible for properly preparing for and then executing the hotel's banquet functions, such as business meetings and social functions. The Banquet Captain works with the Banquet staff, including the Banquet Manager, and the Sales team to bring the client's event to life. The Captain is also in charge of verifying that the Renaissance Brand standard is properly met at each event.
Experience in several aspects of the Banquet Department or related experience is preferred. Alcohol awareness certification and familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred. Additionally, a positive attitude and a desire to work hard is a requirement.
