Sales Manager 

Lexima is seeking an experienced, talented and results driven individual to fill the critical role of Sales Manager at the Hyatt Place, Tulsa/Downtown.

Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for the effective management of all accounts of the hotel and effectively maintaining those accounts while soliciting new accounts to grow hotel revenues. He/She/They is expected to possess superior service skills in dealing with clients, guests, and co-workers. He/She/They will also be responsible for soliciting and managing the sales portion of catering/banquet events.


  • In conjunction with the General Manager, participate in regularly scheduled sales meetings which focus on the number of prospecting and existing calls to be made and the potential business results of these calls.
  • Solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted rooms revenue and to improve performance of the brand in the marketplace.
  • Spend majority of time prospecting/cold calling for new accounts, thoroughly saturating existing accounts.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the marketplace.
  • Meet or exceed all established sales goals.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within the marketplace.
  • Make sales appointments and cold calls to consistently prospect accounts for all direct sales segments (long-term business, short-term business, and leisure).
  • Successfully perform the sales process (establishing rapport, qualifying, meeting needs, handling objections, and closing).
  • Close an identified amount of new business from prospecting calls.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with existing client base and explore ways to increase revenue from this base.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments (parties, sales blitzes, etc.).
  • Abide by prime time selling activities to optimize revenue generating activities.
  • React to negative trends in the marketplace by implementing blitzes or special promotions.
  • Participate in revenue management meetings.
  • Understand and utilize sales tracking program.
  • Follow up on all requests in a timely manner.
  • Carry through all assigned tasks within approved timeline.
  • Adhere to company sales policies, hotel rules, and hotel terminology.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager and/or Director of Sales.
  • Qualifications
  • Two (2) year or four (4) year college degree preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Opera experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • MVR must meet Lexima/Brand qualifications.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be a team player and lead by example.
  • Must have knowledge of and demonstrate excellent service philosophy and
  • standards.
  • Select, Focused, or Extended Hotel Stay experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organization and presentation skills
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
  • Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter
  • Weekends and Holidays may be required as business needs warrant
