What will I be doing? The Senior Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the Property Improvement Plan (PIP) creation and Active PIP process! Additionally, the Senior Project manager will also carry responsibility for managing new construction and conversion project’s timeline, design process, construction, and ultimate responsibility for the successful opening/conversion of the hotel project. You will be the point of contact between Owners and internal and external partners and a conduit of information, collaborator, and facilitator between Hilton and Ownership.

For lifestyle, full-service, focused, and economy-service hotel projects across all Hilton brands, you will:

  • Manage the CALA PIP creation and Active PIP’s process in coordination with Development, AD&C Leadership, Brands, Owner Relations, and Brand performance Support (BPS) teams
  • Write PIP’s, review PIP’s created by Project Managers, and manage the status of PIP’s in the Boss system throughout the development, conversion, and opening of the hotel, along with Development, AD&C, and brands
  • Post-opening of the PIP project, the Senior PIP Manager will be responsible to work in coordination with the BPS team and hotel GM to manage the status of pending PIP items
  • PIP’s include a variety of projects such as a) Non-Hilton brand converting to a Hilton family brand, b) Hotel that has been closed converting to a Hilton family brand, c) Hilton family brand converting to a different Hilton family brand, d) Hilton family brand relicensing, and e) Hilton family brand Change-of-Ownership
  • Coordinate with PM’s and the Senior Director of AD&C to schedule hotel site visits and physically or remotely inspect all areas of the hotel and property
  • Create and maintain PIP status dashboard in Boss (PIP writing system) and or any other available reporting tools
  • Generate reports and communicate status of PIP’s to senior leadership to include, but not limited to AD&C Leadership, Development, Brands and Owner Relations/BPS teams
  • Providing technical services and guiding all elements of the planning and design phase of the project
  • Support Owner’s project timelines and construction progress
  • Providing mentorship for the implementation of brand standards and any recommendations for meeting brand standards
  • Supervising construction activities
  • Reporting to Owners, Stakeholders, and Director on findings, key dates, solving project risks that will affect the hotel's success and opening, conditional and final approvals
  • Improving the final product, and preparation of waiver requests
  • Assisting in the solving of problems as they arise in concert with Owners, Architects, Consultants, and Hilton Stakeholders
  • Plan meetings, agendas, site visits, and program deliverables effectively engaging/disengaging all parties in a timely manner that allows for accurate preparation and planning for the attendees
  • Plan meetings and travel in consideration of other Stakeholders and attendees' travel times and travel expense agreements for several trips
  • The selected candidate will spend approximately 60% of the time on PIP-related activities and the remaining 40% managing new build projects

  • Excellent presentation, written, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to lead change, resolve issues and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity
  • Ability to conduct thorough site visits and ability to estimate renovation requirements and cost estimates
  • Ability to evaluate and find strategic opportunities, develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet the organization’s core goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Understanding of principles and practical application of software
  • Ability to accurately estimate project duration based on experience, scheduling analysis, and interaction with other stakeholders and ownership teams
  • Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into the position and the department. To provide subordinates with effective on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics, and professional development
  • Financial's management and leadership skills, including the ability to monitor expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual financial goals

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of solid experience in project management, renovation projects, construction management, or hotel construction fields
  • Proficient in English and Spanish, both verbal and written
  • Travel frequently – travel should be expected throughout Latin America & The Caribbean region and the US as necessary. Approximately 85% travel requirement

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • In-depth knowledge of project management principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • FLS Local Code and NFPA Courses completed
  • PMP or CAPM Certified is a plus
  • Conversational in Portuguese is a plus, both written and spoken
