What will I be doing? The Senior Lead Platform Architect will apply technical skills to implement, maintain or improve systems, methods, products, and techniques for our Connected Room solution. This position works with build managers, architecture, and IT disciplines as part of the Connected Room Software Engineering team. This role is a critically meaningful technical resource deployed within the context of business technology solution delivery projects to ensure the overall stability and performance of our world-class applications.

The candidate is encouraged to be fully conversant with software development concepts and methodologies and current development languages and methods. Specifically, this position assists in the coordination of development, testing, and documenting of application systems to achieve the objectives detailed in the business requirements. Demonstrating deep technical expertise and analytical skills, the Senior Lead works closely with the Build Manager, Enterprise, Solution, and Platform Architects, and multi-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements for Hilton Worldwide applications and platforms.

More specifically, you will:

  • Provide support of design, development, testing, and implementation of software
  • Provide production support by solving Incidents/Problems and participate in continuous improvement efforts
  • Deliver maintenance and improvements for existing software or packaged applications
  • Ensure consistency to coding standards/procedures and participates in code reviews
  • Ensure that all solution development is aligned to architectural standards throughout the Agile development process
  • Assist in the design and ensure the overall integrity of the test plan
  • Define and set standard methodologies for the Software Engineering organization
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple technology stacks used to code/configure quality solutions that require limited rework and meet business / end-user needs by adhering to the standard methodologies

Requirements

What are we looking for? The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Experience with ‘as a service’ platforms or relevant hosting environments
  • Experience with similar solutions to the product supported
  • Proven knowledge of Agile software development, methodologies, and relevant processes
  • Agile problem-solving techniques and decision-making principles
  • Ability to work independently without significant oversite to follow requirements and develop solutions
  • Ability to build a technical specification and product design from published requirements
  • Learn new technologies and expand your skills

To fulfill this role successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in Project Management
  • Three (3) years of software/platform design & implementation experience
  • Hands-on work with installation, configuration, and management of cloud applications
  • Business travel of approximately 10%, as needed

It would be useful in this position for the candidate to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
  • Two (2) years of IoT and AWS cloud experience
