Job Summary
Function as the technology expert in support of building and expanding Marriott’s Payment Platform services/capabilities. The role will act as the technical expert providing leadership for tokenization, payment authorization, fraud/risk and alternative payments implementations. This role will function as the support leader accountable for assisting any on-property / above-property issues related to integration with payment service providers. The role will be responsible for defining and creating scalable/secure solutions to deliver real world capabilities in alignment with Marriott’s roadmap. The individual will contribute to design, development and integration with 3rd party payment service providers. This role will need to collaborate extensively with Product, Platform, Hotel-Ops. Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, DevSecOps and 3rd party teams to develop the right architecture to support & modernize the payments platform in a seamless manner. Lead engagement across multiple products & engineering teams to deliver incremental value against a multi-year modernization roadmap. Perform research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements.
Candidate Profile
Education And Experience
Required
- 8+ years’ experience in developing software with expert-level expertise in multiple programming languages and methodologies
- 8+ years’ experience with application development tools
- 4+ years’ experience in architecture solution development for complex/enterprise level systems
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience/certification
- 5+ of engineering leadership experience in leading and building technology platforms for B2B and B2C services
Preferred
- Prior experience in building and integration Payment services e.g., Tokenization, Fraud/Risk, Authorization
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future software engineering opportunities
- Deployment and support of payment processing for on-property POS and Chip/Pin services
- Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment
- Prior experience in integrating with Payment service providers such as Freedom Pay, Elavon, Adyen, Stripe is a plus
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and specifications

Technical Leadership
- Provides deep expertise in defining the architectural and technical software solutions to deliver critical capabilities in an enterprise platform
- Provides recommendations and perspective on forward looking technology and tools for future state system development
- Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate
- Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.
Delivering Technology
- Responsible for creating technical solutions for complex business needs
- Responsible for estimating level of effort to create to deliver solutions
- Validates completeness of requirements when reviewing Service Provider solutions
- Ensures all solutions follow the defined enterprise architecture standards and review processes
- Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams
- Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development
- Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels
- Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities
It Governance
- Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
- Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
- Follows the defined project management standards and processes
Service Provider Management
- Validates that Service Providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
- Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
- Monitors Service Provider outcomes
- Reviews estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers for accuracy
Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients
