About This Job

Description

The primary function of this job includes but is not limited to the creation of production of advertising and marketing material for Santa Ana Star Casino.  The Advertising Manager will oversee all media buys and create a placement schedule encompassing Santa Ana Star Casino.  Candidates will need proven communication and interfacing abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a busy front office environment.  The Advertising Manager is expected to serve as a public relations ambassador and must be courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times. 

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Assist in establishing and executing marketing plans, media plans and ad campaigns.
  • Manages the creative design and production of materials for marketing programs, ad campaigns, promotions and events.
  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of projects including, but not limited to, print media, electronic media, direct mail, collateral and internal/external signs.
  • Write, edit and proofread for projects including, but not limited to, television and radio advertisements, press releases, print collateral, web copy, signage and featured articles. Oversees development and production of promotional and collateral materials.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provides feedback for future development.
  • Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in structure of marketing team to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to Director of Marketing.
  • Monitors competitive and marketing activities. Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Acts as key contact person with vendors and media, assisting with communication, coordination, negotiation and traffic with vendors and media.
  • Ensures that all brands and images are portrayed consistently in all communications.
  • Maintains a strong commitment to provide support for the casino’s initiatives, programs, goals and special projects.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policy in an ethical manner.
  • Displays original thinking and creativity, meets challenges with resourcefulness and develops innovative approaches and ideas.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Must have one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience in advertising.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must have strong writing, grammar, spelling and editing skills.
  • Responsible, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • General knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and manage schedules and projects.
  • Requires strong communication skills to effectively interface and coordinate activities involving team members or guests and work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.  Must have an aptitude for customer service.
  • Ability to work on assignments that are complex in nature while exercising sound judgment in problem resolution.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere, work independently and handle projects on an individual basis.
  • Must be able to handle high-pressure situations and meet the demands of time constraints.
  • Must work hours as directed by the Director of Marketing and be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, depending on marketing and promotional program needs.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission key gaming license.
