Supervises and coordinates activities of Team Members engaged in one or more of the following areas of accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable & collections, financial accounting & reporting, food & beverage audit, hotel audit and inventory control audit functions by performing one or more of the following duties:
Ensures that the accounts receivable transactions and collection efforts are properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that all non-gaming debts and payments are properly recorded/reported and are performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that the accounts payable function is performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that all financial statements are properly reviewed, corrected (if necessary) and reported in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that the daily food & beverage audit (to include all food & beverage outlets, gift shop and amenities) is properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that the daily hotel audit (to include Tropicana hotel and LeMerigot hotel) is properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Ensures that inventory control is properly recorded and performed in a timely fashion in accordance with Tropicana’s internal controls.
Reviews the accuracy of all monthly journal entries in the aforementioned areas (for that particular supervisor) and posts the entries into the general ledger system.
Reconciles and/or reviews all general ledger accounts related to the aforementioned areas (for that particular supervisor).
Issues written and oral instructions to Team Members. May propose changes to existing or implement new accounting policies or procedures as necessary.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies, procedures and all applicable federal and state laws.
Studies and standardizes procedures as necessary to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Maintains harmony among team members, resolves grievances and hands out disciplinary action as necessary.
Must possess the Five Star Qualities.
Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana’s internal controls, policies and procedures.

Directly supervises 1+ Team Members, both supervisory and non-supervisory, in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of Team Members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the aforementioned areas.
