Summary
Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervises Receiving Operations. Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor team. Recommend wage increases, promotions, demotions, discipline and other employment actions for Team Members.
  • Supervise daily shift process ensuring all Team Members adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine handling priorities, work assignments, and storage methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Follows the Thoughtful Service model at all times
  • Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana Evansville’s internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Must be available for regularly scheduled work
  • Performs other duties as assigned
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    Directly supervises Receiving Team Members in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Qualifications
    Supervisor Experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    Education And/Or Experience
    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from Two-Year College or technical school; one to two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    Must obtain and maintain a valid certification for forklift. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission License. Remain compliant with on the job specific training.
    Language Skills
    Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and

    interpret instructions, shipping notices, bills of lading, orders and tracking methods. Ability to write reports

    and other business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from

    clients and customers.

    Mathmatical Skills
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions,

    proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

    Computer Skills
    Must be able to operate in Microsoft office (Excel and Word), Email and Receiving

    Operating system.
