The Security Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of the security shift which provides safety and protects all guests, team members and company assets. This position will review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting. Assists Director of Security with compliance with Tribal –State Compact and departmental procedures. Assists in the training and in promoting the safety of guests and team members.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the Security department. Implement all security functions on shift.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and gaming enterprise's internal controls.
  • Ensure that training and update training is being conducted on an on-going basis on shift.
  • Review and approve all security reports and other documents in a timely matter.
  • Enforce Squaxin Island Gaming Enterprise and regulatory laws and requirements.
  • Support, administer and manage operational goals and monitor performance achievements.
  • Assist in creating effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain constant vigilance to ensure the safety of patrons and team members and company property.
  • Respond to guest and team members concerns and complaints and solve their problems with professionalism and compassion
  • Responsible for security problems and developing solutions in coordination with management.
  • Speak or signal personnel using hand, telephone two-way radio, or voice to identify and supply information about suspected violations.
  • Assist in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations, ensuring compliance with departmental budget initiatives.
  • Observe patrons and employees participating in gambling activities to detect any infractions of house rules.

Additional Duties 

  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training
  • Additional duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise team members in the Security Department. 
  • Responsible for training Security Staff.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Evaluate team members within the department and deliver constructive feedback to team members regarding performance.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize team member engagement.
  • Provide recommendations for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Managing work procedures and expediting workflow.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

Education And/Or Experience

  • Associates Degree or Four years of Casino Security, Military or law enforcement experience 
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • And one year as a supervisor is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission.
