Title of position: Greenskeeper 3

Position: Full-Time

Pay:  $18.01 and above based on experience

The Greenskeeper (under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or foreman) performs routine manual labor involved in and/or related to Golf Course maintenance (performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work.)  Ability to operate small hand powered equipment and occasionally perform work involving larger equipment / machines (Tractors, Fairway Units, Triplex Mowers, Walking Mowers, etc.)               

Benefits begin on the 1st day of the month following your hire date even if you start on the 31st of the month.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Safely and properly operate the following types of equipment:

String Trimmers

Edger’s

Backpack Blowers

• Return all equipment to the designated location in the maintenance facility.
• Assist in project work to include, but not limited to:

Construction of greens, tees and fairways

Prepare soil base.

Lay sod

Seed tees, greens and fairways

Safely and properly operate trucks and light motorized equipment.

Maintain bunkers.

• Develop a culture based on mutual respect, clear expectation with the ability to grow and develop as measured by turnover rates.
• Maintain effective communication with the guests and fellow team members.
• Maintain Ball Washers and related supplies.
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels of equipment required to perform job duties.
• Ability to operate fairway and Rough Mowers safely and properly.
• Course set up; sets tee markers and change cups.
• Mark the Golf course for Golf Cart control, moves cart barriers and replaces worn or lost ropes / signs and mark hazard and drop areas.
• Hand watering of greens and fairways.
• Install forms and lay walks / paths using gravel and asphalt mixes.
• Excavate and backfill trenches and ditches with hand tools.
• Repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems.
• Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape areas.
• Weekend Foreman. 

Additional Duties 

• Attend all mandatory meetings and training.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

Education And/Or Experience

• High School or equivalent
• OR three months related experience and/or training
• OR equivalent combination of education and experience  
• Experience in turf maintenance preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission.
• Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
