Description

Crescent Hotels and Resorts is seeking an experienced Human Resources executive to join our team in managing the Hospitality division for Colonial Williamsburg Resort. This position is based out of Williamsburg, VA.

As the Complex Director of People and Culture, you will have oversight of all human resources functions for the hospitality division of Colonial Williamsburg, which include 5 hotels, over 20 restaurants, a championship golf courses and magnificent spa and fitness center.

  • Direct and instruct the management staff in effective talent acquisition methods such as verbal presentations and written directions to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and efficient associates. Conduct interviews for all management positions.
  • Ensure that associates are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all learning & development programs. Coordinate learning & development efforts through the Director, of Learning , Development & Culture.
  • Monitor the associate performance appraisal programs. Read and analyze evaluations and goals to ensure appraisal comments are appropriate and goals are measurable and achievable.
  • Direct and administer associate relations programs and activities such as associate recognition and service award ceremonies, social functions and general hotel meetings to maintain a positive associate relations climate.
  • Develop, implement and administer policies and programs related to the management of all hospitality associates to ensure the maintenance of a positive and productive employment environment. Monitor same for fair and consistent application.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the Vice President, Colonial Williamsburg Resort, management staff and associates in order to maximize the quality and professionalism
  • Control the administration of wages and benefits to ensure the accurate and equitable application of same, analyzing and applying information retrieved from moderately complex reports, manuals and/or computer systems.
  • Manage all labor relations activities by administering union contracts and ensuring compliance. Respond to all grievances in writing, negotiate settlements and act as the hotel representative at all arbitrations.

Qualifications we are seeking:

  • minimum of 5 years progressive human resources experience, preferably with exposure to multi unit operations
  • prior labor relations experience/working in a unionized environment required
  • deep understanding of human resources principles and foundation
  • experience in a hospitality based business is required
  • experience leading a multi-disciplinary team, including learning & development, talent acquisition
