Job Description:

The Business Transient Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting and developing account leads. Possesses excellent communication skills; aggressively solicits new business and exceeds established goals for the market segment as designated by the Director of Sales; actively participates in strategies to ensure closing on each business opportunity to maximize revenue; ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery in accordance with hotel standards; manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction; achieves and/or exceeds all revenue goals by soliciting past and new business; generates sales plans and strategies to meet and/or exceed revenue goals; captures a higher percentage of the current market share; represents the property with prospective customers, conducting property tours and consulting with coordinators regarding detailed arrangements; respond to leads in an efficient and expeditious manner; communicates effectively with external and internal clients in a friendly, positive manner with confidence; meets/exceeds client needs and resolves client issues, manages multiple projects simultaneously and meets deadlines; works well under pressure, is flexible and organized with attention to detail; acts as a team player with a positive, professional attitude and appearance; possesses excellent time management, prospecting and negotiating skills; self-motivates, is creative and energetic; possesses proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft products as well as operate Amadeus/Delphi sales system. The Hilton Columbus/Polaris is a 24/7 operation, as such, this position will operate with a flexible schedule and will require some evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with Hotel Sales (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, or relevant field of work preferred.
• A minimum 5 years of experience in Rooms (Group/Transient) and Banquet/Catering Sales and/or sales systems analysis.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to identify relevant data and use it to draw inferences with reference to impact on hotels revenues.

• Self-starting personality with a professional disposition.
• Strong leadership and team building skills.
• Track record of success in direct sales in the hotel or related service industry.
• Strong Marketing and business development/production skills.

• Ability to use, Brand, PMS, reservation, revenue management systems, and brand sales systems to develop pricing and sales recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, command of the written language both written and verbal.
• Self-driven with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to travel local up to 40% of the time may be required.
