This position is responsible for dealing casino games as assigned to provide a courteous and entertaining experience for Palms and generate revenue for the department.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Deals one or more games to provide guests with courteous and accurate service and promotes an entertaining environment; maintains department standards of games productivity.

  • Provides gaming instructions to guests when requested or as assigned to encourage gaming activity.

  • Deals a procedurally correct game, while all the time protecting company assets.

  • Assists guests by answering general questions and handling special requests to provide them with courteous service.

  • Actively supports and sells current marketing promotions and is a strong advocate of the Serrano Club program.

  • Sponsors new dealers as needed to provide new hires with adequate on the job training.

  • Provides game protection by keeping visual contact of all guests and game layout and reporting any suspicious activity to the immediate supervisor. Maintains a continuous inspection of deck(s) and dice, roulette balls, all gaming equipment, ensuring the integrity of their assigned game.

  • Initiates courteous and friendly conversations with guests.

  • Assists supervisors with Serrano Club check-in and accurate tracking, and marker issuance and buy-backs.

  • Assists guests in playing and ensures adherence to established rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Always demonstrates a pleasant and enthusiastic demeanor.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications

  • Must deal all games with the exception of Dice (Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, Pai-Gow Poker, and all Carnival Games).

  • Literate and fluent in English

  • Must obtain a Gaming License

  • May require a Work Card

  • Mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexibility to accommodate changing business demands, i.e., schedule changes and overtime. Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Work is performed in a Casino/Hotel setting.

  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.

  • May be exposed to smoke

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.

  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.

  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Eye/hand coordination.

  • Use of standard office equipment.

  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
