Job overview

As a Mid-Level Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in the repairs and maintenance of the hotel, accomplish the preventative maintenance program as directed and support repair and renovation projects.  You will also be responsible for maintaining the building exterior appearance including the parking lot and walk ways.

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Love the look and quality presentation of all hotel facilities, be detail oriented, preferably with facility maintenance experience.
  • Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, love to smile and have FUN in a team environment.
  • Administers the preventative maintenance program as required, properly completing work orders on time.
  • Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.
  • Completes training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. 
  • Reports appropriate complaints or requests to appropriate department. 
  • Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Maintains security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day.
  • Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor.  
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Required to meet the minimum driver standards, in accordance to our Driver Safety Policy.

Job Knowledge, Skill And Ability: 

  • Knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical and mechanical work and painting.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of skilled trade tools (including both hand and electric tools).
  • Must have the visual ability to identify and match colors for painting color coded steam pipes and identifying color coded electrical wires.
  • English language communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers, fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate, simple arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of shift.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
  • Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet for extended periods of time, with the ability to extend arms, often times overhead.
  • The job is defined as both inside and outside in the elements, the worker may spend more than 50% of a work day either inside or out.
  • This individual must be able to work on and be able to stoop, kneel, crawl and climb on all types of surfaces.
  • Ability to work in small confined areas.
  • Work with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions.

Education, Experience & Licenses: 

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the functions of the job.
  • High school diploma required
  • 3 or more years of maintenance experience preferred
  • Valid Wisconsin drivers license
