Position Overview

As the Corporate Director of Human Resources in the Hospitality industry, you will play a vital role in developing and executing human resources strategies across our organization. You will be responsible for managing all HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and fostering a positive and productive work environment for our team members. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the hospitality industry and a proven track record of successful HR leadership.

Primary Relationships

  • This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
  • This position has primary working relationships across both home office and hotel level(s), including the Directors of Human Resources at individual hotels.

Primary Functions

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and policies in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the senior leadership team regarding human resources matters, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement,
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process for key positions, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent across the organization.
  • Collaborate with human resource property leaders to identify training and development needs and implement effective learning initiatives to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies, and update HR practices accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations programs to foster a positive work environment and promote employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
  • Oversee the performance management process, performance evaluations, and career development planning, to drive employee performance and growth.
  • Provide guidance and support in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Support onboarding new hotels into the portfolio
  • Lead investigations into employee complaints and ensure appropriate action is taken to address any issues identified.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging HR technologies and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the HR function.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage compensation requests for property market data and participation in annuals surveys.
  • Assisting NWH HR teams with managing and updating employee records and information using ADP WFN.
  • Assisting NWH Home Office team members and NWH HR teams with inquiries related to benefits options and coverage.
  • Distributing ADP WFN audit reports provided by NWI Corporate HR team to NWH HR staff to ensure accuracy and completeness of employee data, including personal details, job history, compensation, and benefits.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in employment laws and working with NWI Corporate HR team to adjust HR practices accordingly within the ADP WFN platform, including training NWH HR teams on such adjustments and policy changes.
  • Providing support and training to NWH Home Office team members on using the ADP WFN self-service portal for tasks like updating personal information, accessing pay stubs, and requesting time off.
  • Collaborating with NWI Corporate HR team to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with the system.
  • Maintaining the security and confidentiality of employee data stored within ADP WFN.
  • Collaborating with HR team members to ensure consistent and effective use of ADP WFN.
  • Providing training sessions to new NWH HR Practitioners and NWH Home Office employees on how to use ADP WFN effectively.
  • Resolve NWH inquiries within HR ticketing system pertaining to ADP WFN, HR compliance, policies, procedures, and best practices.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience of demonstrated working knowledge in ADP WFN as an HR Practitioner
  • Proven experience as a Human Resources leader in the hospitality industry, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and dynamics.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others, build effective teams, and influence key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven and analytical approach to HR management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and other HR-related software.
