Compensation: Up to $150,000, Full-Time

The Director of Marketing is a key position with Bally's Chicago, our integrated resort and casino slated to open in late 2026 in Chicago's River West neighborhood, featuring a 500-room hotel, 3,000-seat theater, multiple restaurants, and a 178,000-square-foot casino, with over 3,400 slot machines and 170 table games.

  • LocationThe permanent site is at the former Chicago Tribune site on the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street.

The Role:

Director of Marketing plays a central role in delivering our ambitious growth plans across audience acquisition, engagement, and retention for the Bally’s brand. Our ideal candidate has a track record of driving high, sustainable growth via digital and clear-channel strategies and experience leading a data-driven test-and-learn approach for growth marketing acceleration. Experience growing audiences and fans for TV, digital content and/or mobile apps is highly desired.

The candidate will operate in a high-growth space with a fast-changing landscape that will require flexibility and continual adaptation. The Director will continuously evolve digital and clear-channel strategy accounting for industry trends, emerging solutions, new insights, and changing customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy, planning and execution of marketing initiatives that will increase viewership, fan interactions, and app downloads/usage.
  • Evolve our audience growth strategy via knowledge of the target audiences and analyzing data on media consumption behaviors, to inform where and how to best reach these consumers with the appropriate messages.
  • Develop and champion digital growth strategies including discovery, planning, prioritization, requirements, experimentation, and driving execution to achieve critical growth metrics and optimize our end-to-end viewer experience.
  • Own the marketing calendar and work with the rest of the marketing team to execute and track.
  • Manage experiential/live event activations and set goals for each event.
  • Manage all sponsorship assets as an additional marketing channel (MiLB).
  • Collaborate with developing the strategy & development of each campaign & growth lever, ensuring strong briefs, clear processes and exceptional execution.
  • Lead user acquisition efforts, including planning, execution, testing and optimization of plans across TV, digital, social, mobile platforms, experiential and distribution partners.
  • Oversee marketing budget that will be allocated to growth focused marketing campaigns. Work closely with Marketing and Finance on an ongoing basis to ensure forecasts are accurate and work is on budget.
  • Lead exploration of emerging marketing channels, vetting partnerships, ideas and advertising proposals to identify new efficient growth driving tactics across acquisition and retention.
  • Develop, test and optimize marketing calendars and ensure the effective execution of promotional strategies to drive incremental growth.
  • Partner with the product leads to ensure the customer acquisition funnel and key journeys on web and app experiences are maximized for conversion and engagement.
  • Define key performance metrics, build measures and tracking to ensure value is collected from all use cases being developed and deployed.
  • Partner with our Analytics team to design and develop appropriate mechanisms for tracking and performance management (e.g., dashboards, reports).
  • Own data and analytics of marketing reporting and insights.
  • Work VP of Marketing to build persona groups, fan demographics, and target groups.
  • Leverage data-driven decisions and experimentation approaches (e.g., A/B testing, hold outs, control groups) to build learning agendas, analyze results, and integrate findings into the organization for on-going planning and pivoting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in clear-channel marketing
  • 2+ years leadership experience
  • Proven track record of delivering successful and commercially driven strategic marketing plans that are designed to drive audience growth and user engagement
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize insights into opportunities
  • Proven background in developing a deep understanding of consumers’ needs and translating them into an outcome driven roadmap of acquisition and engagement
  • Experience with paid marketing channels: SEM, social, digital ads, app store ads
  • Experience utilizing sports sponsorship assets as a marketing channel is a plus.
  • Strong design sensibility with expertise in developing seamless and targeted user journey driven experiences
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Bally’s Chicago

Bally's Chicago will be located in the city's River West neighborhood on the bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street.

The first phase of the new casino hotel resort is slated to cost $1 billion. It will include 2,700 slot machines, 95 table games, a suite-only hotel, with 100 suites. There will also be an outdoor music venue with space for 1,000 people.

The subsequent expansion of Bally's Chicago is projected to provide a total of 4,000 gaming seats, a 3000 seat indoor venue, 20,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, and a new 500 room 34-tower hotel which will include a large pool spa, fitness center and sun deck, as well as a rooftop restaurant bar with a spectacular view of the Chicago skyline.

The permanent location will include a 3,000 seat theater, an extension of the Chicago Riverwalk, pedestrian bridge, six restaurants, a food hall, and room for 3,400 slots and 173 game tables.

The corporation has a plan to retrofit the former warehouse at the current Tribune plant in order to serve as a temporary casino while the casino is being built. Bally's Temporary Casino will be located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.

The temporary facility located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL, will initially provide 33,000 square feet of gaming space accommodating 1000 gaming patrons. There will be two bars & cocktail lounges, a food service bar and a Grab N Go Kiosk.
