The opportunity

On behalf of our customer, Catawba Two Kings Casino, Delaware North is actively recruiting for an Executive Director of Facilities in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The Executive Director of Facilities serves as the senior leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the physical property at Catawba Two Kings Casino, including maintenance, operation, and environment innovation. This role ensures the property’s aesthetics, operational continuity, and safety standards are consistently upheld to deliver an exceptional experience for both guests and team members. The Executive Director of Facilities leads strategic initiatives in maintenance, operations, and environmental sustainability, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Pay

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. What will you do?

  • Champion and uphold the Two Kings Casino Standards as outlined in company policies
  • Foster positive relationships with team members and guests, resolving concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Promote and monitor guest and workplace safety across all areas of the property and within the Facilities department
  • Lead the development and implementation of training programs focused on management skills, technical competencies, and safety for facilities staff
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including preparing scopes of work, issuing RFPs, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with legal and operational standards
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and disaster recovery plans
  • Oversee annual budgeting processes and conduct regular cost and productivity analyses
  • Implement sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency and environmental performance
  • Supervise Managers of Buildings and Grounds to maintain the property’s cleanliness, functionality, and visual appeal, including all building systems and finishes
  • Ensure all equipment, materials, and procedures comply with applicable codes and regulations
  • Manage environmental data systems and reporting in collaboration with business partners to support climate strategy goals (energy, water, waste, etc.)
  • Plan and execute special projects using in-house resources
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize operational disruptions
  • Lead the design and implementation of new features and modifications to the built environment in collaboration with the Technical and Construction Services (TACS) group
  • Oversee procurement activities in coordination with the Purchasing Department, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership in hiring, performance management, compensation decisions, and disciplinary actions for department managers and staff, in partnership with Human Resources
  • Align departmental operations with the strategic objectives of Executive Property Management to ensure efficient and effective facility operations
  • Stay current with industry best practices in facilities management, groundskeeping, and housekeeping, and share insights with leadership to drive continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

More about you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, including 5+ years in a senior management role within a high demand, 24/7 hospitality operation, at least half of that within a casino with hotel or resort; or minimum of 5+ years at the Director level and 6+ years in a management capacity—required
  • Facilities Management Expertise cluding 8+ years of hands-on experience managing multi-building commercial properties at the Facilities Manager level (or equivalent titles such as Engineer or Superintendent)
  • Proven success in maintaining reliability, comfort, and safety across built environments, with direct oversight of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and groundskeeping
  • Demonstrated success in leading management-level teams to achieve operational goals
  • Proven track record of increasing responsibility and delivering results across annual and fiscal cycles—required
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel and participate in training as needed.
  • Active membership and credentials from at least one recognized industry organization, including International Facility Management Association, U.S. Green Building Council, Association of Energy Engineers, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, North American Technician Excellence, American Society for Healthcare Engineering, and Association of Physical Plant Administrators
