Verify that AV equipment needed is in the inventory before event. Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all equipment, devices, and systems. Ensure all equipment is fully operational, repair/clean when necessary. Tape down/dress loose wire/cable. Label broken equipment. Check delivered equipment and room set-up against Banquet Event Order. Communicate additions or deletions to flowsheets. Break-down, remove, and secure equipment. Set-up and maintain property’s portable audio system. Operate and maintain house audio system. Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage/operation of AV equipment. Up-sell AV services. Monitor equipment operation. Read, understand, and adhere to Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down work station. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
Manages event planning functions and staff on a daily basis. Core area of responsibility is the event planning team, including the Senior Event Managers, Event Managers, Associate Event Managers and Administrative Assistants. Position oversees the administrative processes associated with the pre-event and post-event phases of an event and the associated transitions between all event phases. Ensures a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering a high level of service. Ensures the team maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting (catering and group rooms) all events. The position is responsible for achieving guest and employee satisfaction and for managing the financial performance of the department.
Manages housekeeping functions and staff to ensure property guest rooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Areas of responsibility include Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. Ensures that standards and procedures are being followed.

Acts as the on-property sales liaison to drive business transient revenue within specific transient segments (i.e., consortia, wholesale, special corporate, AAA, travel agencies, entertainment, diplomatic, social leisure, etc.). Uncovers opportunities and drives transient production by identifying and developing strong business transient relationships. Achieves transient revenue goals by actively and proactively soliciting individuals within specific transient segments. Develops, implements, and executes transient initiatives to increase productivity and engagement. Partners with above property sales leaders (i.e., area sales, account sales and GSO) to identify and pull through business from deployed customer accounts. Identifies and secures transient business, including orchestrating the transaction (i.e., work with revenue, front office, concierge teams, etc.) as appropriate. Conducts walk-through with customer to detail requirements to meet customer expectations or site inspections with agents and travel advisors. Verifies business is worked in conjunction with the operations and events teams to verify quality service delivery. Upsells each business opportunity to maximize transient revenue. Implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions, make introductions, and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable. Read and analyze banquet event order in order to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc. Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements. Follow up on special banquet event arrangements to ensure compliance.
