Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Senior People Partner will provide exceptional customer support to all levels of the enterprise workforce in support of the Tribe’s vision, mission, and values. The Senior People Partner will play a critical role on the HR team to drive performance that aligns with the enterprise’s human capital strategy and will serve in an operational lead capacity, providing guidance to the People Partners on employee life cycle matters, employee retention and engagement, organizational design and workforce planning, employee and labor relations, and core management issues. This role will work in harmony and collaboration with internal HR stakeholders and stakeholders throughout the enterprise to drive a best in class team member experience.The Senior People Partner will promote a culture of accountability, lead others in adopting a coaching and development mindset while consistently role modeling behaviors that will reinforce the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians’ brand as the premier employer of choice. This role will require a “hands on” approach, one that understands that effective department, leader, and employee partnerships begin with building relationships as well as by being approachable and accessible to their clients.Working independently, as well as with a team, the Senior People Partner will provide accurate and timely HR information to HR leadership and San Manuel executive and operational leaders ensuring priorities are aligned with objectives, work cultures, legal requirements and HR programs/policies. Under the direction of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Shift Sergeant, the Public Safety Officer (PSO) is a uniformed, armed position responsible for providing public safety to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) Reservation and all its Tribal citizens, assets, customers, facilities, and operations, including the Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel. This position requires exceptional customer relations skills. PSOs must deliver critical safety and security services in a business-oriented, courteous, customer service, and professional manner. PSO’s are involved with the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations under the State of California, Federal, and Tribal Government codes, securing an assigned area, conducting investigations, collecting evidence, and preparing timely and accurate reports. Duties also involve crime prevention, investigating crimes, detaining suspects, responding to emergencies, performing as initial Incident Commander until relieved, testifying in court proceedings, and protection of life. The PSO may be assigned to various special assignments such as executive protection, canine operations, among others. The Public Safety Officer also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s mission, vision, and values.
Under the direction of the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer (CLCO), the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing high-level administrative and professional executive support to the CLCO, Deputy General Counsel, and the Vice President, Enterprise Legal Compliance. This position enhances the executive effectiveness utilizing excellent communication and time management skills, through the execution of a variety of moderately complex administrative/coordination duties requiring sensitivity, initiative and independent judgment. The Executive Assistant also serves as the trained administrative support backup for the Legal Operations team, as needed.
Under the direction of the VP, Human Resources, the Sr HR Policy and Documentation Specialist (Sr Specialist) is an anticipatory and forward-thinking contributor responsible for leading and governing the comprehensive processes around HR policy management and the technical documentation needs of the department. The Sr Specialist brings a breadth of HR experience and expert writing capabilities to work cross-functionally with other subject matter experts and leaders on activities related to end-to-end HR policy and documentation management that aligns with the Tribe’s values, expectations of its workforce, and employment laws.
Under the direction of the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Operations Analyst in collaboration with the Investment Operations Associate, is responsible for the operations and administrative elements of the investments for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) Sovereign Wealth Fund. The work involves activities such as coordinating with the Fund custodian and Tribal Finance, facilitating documentation, reporting, and capital flows on an ongoing basis, and supporting the preparation of reports to the Investment Board.
SUMMARYThe San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) is a self-governing nation and as such has established tribally-managed governmental units to enhance and support services on the San Manuel reservation. The San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission (SMTGC) is the governmental unit that was created by tribal ordinance as the primary regulator of gaming within the SMBMI’s jurisdiction, including the Yaamava Resort & Casino (YRC). The SMTGC, which includes the Surveillance Department, is responsible for maintaining legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring a high level of integrity, and safeguarding Tribal and YRC assets.Under the direction of the Surveillance Technical Supervisor, the Surveillance Infrastructure Technician is responsible for the administration and oversight of Surveillance Department systems (numerous), equipment, components, and infrastructure. Systems include but not limited to; CCTV systems, and infrastructure, conduit bending, and installation, cable installation, termination, testing and certification of fiber optic cable, category cable, multi conductor and coaxial cable, weapons detection systems deployment, bag X-Ray scanner, support SMTGC hearings, and deploy or maintain trailered CCTV mobile units. Responsibilities include but not limited to installation, repair, and maintenance of these systems at properties owned and operated by SMBMI. Properties include but are not limited to, YRC Casino, YRC Hotel, YRC Retail, YRC Entertainment Venue, YRC Amenities, YRC Food & Beverage areas, SMBMI Reservation, and numerous SMBMI remote site locations. The Surveillance Technician reads and interprets system diagrams/schematics and is proficient in using tools and testing instruments, as tasks include performing and assisting with installation/uninstallation of components and infrastructure of Surveillance Department systems. The Surveillance Technician is also responsible for installation and cross connecting of Surveillance Department systems components such as servers, network switches, storage devices, and PC workstations, etc. This position also assists in the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance and recovery for mission critical surveillance systems.
Under the direction of the Manager, Academic Acceleration, the Tutor (Part-Time), supports education specialists who support grades Pre-K through 12 in multiple subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign language. The Tutor’s contributions ensure the quality of overall educational services, programs, and initiatives provided to San Manuel Tribal Citizens.
Reporting to the SVP, Accounting, the Director, Accounts Payable leads all activities for optimizing Accounts Payable through the ownership of the disbursement process following the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Director, Accounts Payable develops, implements, and administers the vision, strategy, and goals of the department. This position proactively works with enterprise-wide stakeholders as a strategic partner between Accounts Payable and operations. The strategic leader understands business drivers for success and knows how to leverage leading practices to ensure Accounts Payable (AP) is acting as a fiduciary trustee for the Tribe.

The SMTGC, which includes the Compliance Department, is responsible for maintaining legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring a high level of game integrity, preventing fraud, waste and abuse, and safeguarding Tribal assets, employees and patrons.Under the direction of the Gaming Technical Supervisor, the Gaming Compliance Technician I (“Technician”) is responsible for regulating all gaming devices (Class II and Class III) within the SMTGC’s jurisdiction, including slot machines, gaming peripherals, shuffling devices, electronic table games devices, cash dispensing units, server based games and gaming systems. The Technician performs jackpot verifications, technical assessments, logic access and software inventory. The position is also responsible for monitoring the gaming floor, which includes certifying gaming devices, performing technical analysis and taking regulatory action as necessary to maintain compliance with strong regulatory controls.
Under the general direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for compiling invoice packets, verifying invoice accuracy, discrepancies, and submitting accounts payable reports to the appropriate recipient for verification. The Accounts Payable Specialist ensures compliance with the Gaming Commission’s Tribal Gaming Minimum Internal Controls (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), by studying the standards, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, IT Operations, the Field Support Analyst I is responsible for providing support for all endpoint technology issues including computer troubleshooting and repair, software installation and configuration, and other user facing issues. Technical aptitude and customer service are key traits for the Field Support Analyst I.
Under the leadership of the Vice President of Strategic Communications, the Director of Strategic Communications oversees the execution of the public relations strategic plan for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Tribe’s Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel, located on the Tribe’s reservation in Highland, CA. The Director of Strategic Communications leads a team in the development and execution of the earned media strategy and external communications plans to enhance and maintain a favorable image of the Tribe and Yaamava’ operations through earned media; influencers; third party testimonials; other Tribes; neighbors and stakeholders. This position is responsible for aligning public relations activities in collaboration with enterprise Marketing and Property Marketing teams. The Director keeps track of public attitudes, develops key messages and supports the Vice President in acting as a coach and advisor to leadership on strategic PR decisions. The Director of Strategic Communications is a hands-on role and serves as a contributing member of the Strategic Communications editorial and writing team by pitching and providing content to appropriate communication channels.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, and the HR Manager will lead and mentor a team of dynamic HR Specialist in addressing talent management, employee engagement, organizational design and core management issues. This key role will partner with stakeholders across the San Manuel to build an effective, engaged and inspired workforce. The HR Manager will collaborate with HR colleagues and department management throughout the San Manuel to diagnose root causes and drive solutions for issues negatively impacting productivity and the employee experience. He/she/they will also collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute specific organizational performance and engagement programs, to ensure team members have knowledge of and access to best in class practices, policies, and resources. The individual selected for this position plays a key role in the management of various long and short-term activities and strategic programs requiring a moderate degree of experience, knowledge, and professionalism. The Vendor Program Manager monitors vendors to ensure they are in compliance with San Manuel Band of Mission Indians’ (SMBMI) policies and concurrently works with vendors to improve performance as needed. The Vendor Program Manager is also highly organized and capable of providing support to all business units, while holding high-level independent judgment and initiative in collaboration with enterprise stakeholders during projects, auditing, reporting, and training. The Vendor Program Manager also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.
Under the direction of the Public Safety Dispatch Shift Manager, the Public Safety Dispatcher will be responsible for performing their duties and responsibilities in accordance with all established laws and regulations to include the San Manuel Department of Public Safety Policies and Procedures. These duties will include operating all radio-telephone transmitting and receiving equipment along with the computer-aided dispatch system; All information must be recorded in a timely, accurate manner, recording all pertinent information for emergency and non-emergency request for service from the San Manuel Tribal Community, Resort, Casino, Offsite properties; as well as law enforcement agencies, fire, medical or other emergency services. This position uses multiple communications systems to coordinate emergency calls; relay information and assistance; directly coordinates requests involving law enforcement agencies and other emergency response personnel, provides notifications in accordance with predetermined plans across all San Manuel Departments. The Public Safety Dispatcher will compile data, maintain records of emergency response, equipment and personnel dispatched and disposition of all calls for services (emergency and non-emergency), studies and maintains familiarity with locations of streets, landmarks and properties on and off the reservation and in the casino. This role keeps radio contact with DPS personnel on assignment, keeps supervising officers informed of situations, and dispatches additional record files. This individual maintains communication and serves as a liaison with other agencies. The Public Safety Dispatcher will assist with threat analysis and risk assessments as directed by the San Manuel Intel Division and will enter any Officer Safety or public safety related “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO) issued from DPS, other San Manuel Departments, or Other Allied Law Enforcement agencies into the CAD system.The Public Safety Dispatcher aligns themselves with the initiatives of the Department of Public Safety while championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribal Community’s vision, mission and values.

The Surveillance Systems Administrator plays a mission critical role in the deployment, configuration, security, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of Surveillance Department systems. This position serves as a specialist on multiple operating systems and platforms supporting large scale computing. The Systems Administrator applies professional experience and training in Information Technology (IT) to the most complex assignments requiring development and installation of operating system software, systems programming and modification of operating systems, performance analysis, database maintenance, and management, security administration, and management of data storage. The Surveillance Systems Administrator is responsible for participation in the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery for mission critical systems. This role additionally assists in investigations, analyzes feasibility of system requirements, and develops system specifications.

In writing, researching, and analyzing compliance documents, the incumbent will achieve strong internal controls that safeguard assets, mitigate risk, prevent illegal activities, and maintain processes consistent with industry best practices. Under the direction of the Creative Services Supervisor, the Multimedia Content Producer is responsible for all content utilizing a wide range of video, motion graphics, audio, photography, and videography, while adhering to brand standards for San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI), Yaamava’ Resort and Casino (YRC), and Palms. In addition, the Multimedia Content Producer (MCP) will also assist in video scripts, as needed, for various visual communication media.

Under the supervision of the IT Service Desk supervisors, the Service Desk Analyst ensures proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, creating, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain service level agreements (SLA) expectations. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as assisting individuals or providing in-person, hands-on help with technical issues.The Service Desk Analyst I will primarily be tasked with providing support, including walk-ins, over-the-phone support, screen sharing or remote control, live chat support, or email support.
Under the direction of the San Manuel Utility Authority Principal Engineer, the High Voltage Systems Specialist is a journey level expert with advanced experience, who will hold the primary responsibility of ensuring the substation and switchgear are available, reliable, and maintained per ANSINETA standards while serving as a subject matter expert across the enterprise. The High Voltage System Specialist also provides on-site, after-hours on-call outage response. In the event of an outage, incumbent must be able to be on-site within thirty (30) minutes of initial contact.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for daily operations and ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians business enterprises. The Procurement Manager ensures that the appropriate departmental performance and metrics are established to readily support all business initiatives. The Procurement Manager will supervise, manage, mentor, and motivate team members, in addition to the responsibilities listed below. This person will enable effective stakeholder collaboration with other business units and vendors to achieve best in class procurement functions.

The Lead PSA will act as liaison between the shift supervision and the shift PSAs. Lead PSAs must deliver critical security services in a business oriented, courteous, and professional manner. This position requires exceptional customer relations skills. Lead PSAs are involved with the public safety and security rules and regulations under the State of California, Federal, and Tribal Government codes, securing an assigned area, assisting with securing of incident scenes, identifying victims/witnesses, locating evidence, and may be asked to assist in the preparing of appropriate reports.
Under the direction of the Director, Surveillance Technical, the Manager, Surveillance Systems is responsible for oversight of the installation, maintenance, stability, optimization, and integrity of surveillance system applications and supporting equipment and ensures compliance with state and federal surveillance requirements for the operation of gaming activities. The Manager, Surveillance Systems, is accountable for providing 24/7 technical support in response to enterprise needs and may be required to provide support beyond normal working hours.
Under supervision from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Supervisor, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergency and non-emergency calls in and around the San Manuel Casino and delivers high quality patient care and customer service within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols, and company policies.
******** Open to SMBMI Tribal members and community members ********The San Manuel Fire Department's mandate is to provide emergency and non-emergency services to protect the lives and property of tribal citizens, employees, patrons, and guests of the San Manuel reservation as well as to safeguard environmental, cultural and economic resources. The department is called upon to ensure fire safety on the reservation and to protect the lives of those within the community. Also critical in the San Manuel Fire Department's mission is to develop, implement and maintain innovative prevention programs and strategies, lifesaving and safety education and training to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians community. The department fosters partnerships with other tribal departments, as well as outside public safety agencies, to promote a dynamic emergency response capability. Under the supervision of the Special Operations Supervisor, the Reserve Firefighter accomplishes a variety of duties in the protection of life and property. Participates in the combating, extinguishing and prevention of fires as well as providing emergency medical care, rescue and protection of individuals from hazardous environments. Maintains fire station, grounds, and equipment, participates in fire prevention inspection, fire prevention, and suppression training.
The Information Technology (IT) department for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (the Tribe) provides and supports a leading edge technology infrastructure to the organization in support of ever changing technological advances in the Gaming industry and the Tribe’s business enterprises. The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is key to the success of the IT staff to meet the demands of this technically proficient and high demand department. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for assisting management ensuring that the software policies, procedures, and standards are actively enforced. This will include but not be limited to coding standards regarding software libraries, frameworks, APIs, code commenting, architecture, naming conventions, and other software best practices. This role will be actively developing applications for the enterprise and mentoring the junior members of the team. Responsibilities also include actively looking for ways to improve existing applications, improve existing processes, and exploring new technologies to provide recommendations on their use and integration
Based in Irvine California, under the direction of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the Director, Investment Strategies is responsible for broad asset class investments including developing and recommending investment structure and policy, monitoring managers, and implementing Investment Board approved plans on a risk-relative basis to attain portfolio-optimization. With the long-term financial health of the tribal nation in mind, the Director, Investment Strategies works closely with the CIO to implement a portfolio across traditional and alternative asset classes, helping to manage investment team members. This position also manages, implements, maintains and explains strategies, and readily addresses a wide range of markets and issues.
Under the direction of the Receiving Supervisor, the Logistics Clerk is responsible for the receiving, storage and distribution of goods needed for both San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Tribal Government and Yaamava’ Resort & Casino operations.
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Logistics/Inventory the Senior Logistics Specialist is responsible for accurate and efficient receiving/distribution of products that supply all venues. The Senior Logistics Specialist guides and trains Logistics team members for certain job duties, including Eatec/Lawson usage.
Under the direction of the San Manuel Tribal Community Services - Special Services Division, the Protective Services Specialist (PSS) is responsible for the close protection of the Tribal Council, the Executive Leadership team, Tribal Citizens, and employees of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. The Protective Services Specialist trains to the same Federal standards as the Department of the State’s Office of High Threat Protection and adds concierge services seen in the industry of executive protection. This position also provides all strategic, tactical, and concierge functions of the Special Services Division (SSD) by maintaining close communication with leadership during client movement and remaining vigilant and alert while on assignment. The Protective Services Specialist provides best-in-class services for designated San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) Tribal Government Officials, Tribal Citizens, Executives, and other VIPs, both on and off SMBMI Reservation property.
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) is a self-governing nation and as such has established tribally managed governmental units to enhance and support services on the San Manuel reservation. The San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission (SMTGC) is the governmental unit that was created by tribal ordinance as the primary regulator of gaming within the SMBMI’s jurisdiction, including the Yaamava Resort and Casino (YRC). The SMTGC, which includes the Surveillance Department, is responsible for maintaining legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring a high level of integrity, and safeguarding tribal and YRC assets.Under the direction of the Vice President, Surveillance & Game Protection, the Surveillance Program Specialist will be responsible for conducting and/or assiting with processes or systems to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines, quality assurance, and alignment with operational goals. This position also assists in the identification, development and implementation of innovative systems and integrations, analyzing current and future needs, and performing internal reviews of processes or systems to ensure consistency and a high degree of operational excellence. The Surveillance Program Specialist will work closely with department stakeholders in the day-to-day operations and future planning of the department regarding process, systems, and general operations. This role will require the Surveillance Program Specialist to have a flexible work schedule, work extended hours and be available 24/7 to ensure business and department needs are met.
With a focus on helping San Manuel Tribal families and citizens, the Tribal Wellness Educator provides a range of activities and programs within the department that are intended to have a positive effect on the health and well-being of the community. Reporting to the Director of Tribal Family Services, the Tribal Wellness Clinician provides support and services that have been identified to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of the Tribal Community while maintaining the strictest confidentiality in compliance with applicable law. The Tribal Wellness Clinician supports and provides services to the Tribal Citizens, which may include; receiving and making calls to Tribal Citizens, providing resources, responding to crisis’ and triaging their needs. This may also include providing wellness checks and/or providing case management, home visits, and meeting with citizens. The Tribal Wellness Clinician works to assist in connecting and coordinating the community with private and public agencies to provide services through a referral network that is reputable, vetted and subject/service-appropriate. The Tribal Wellness Clinician also engages in providing prevention/early intervention (PEI) services to the community.
The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and professional support to the HR executive team to enhance the effectiveness of these executives by executing a variety of complex administrative duties requiring sensitivity and discretion. The Executive Assistant is a seasoned professional who maintains poise in fast-paced situations and is required to use independent judgment and initiative in the planning, organization, and performance of confidential and time sensitive administrative assignments.
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant – Non-Gaming is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, supporting schedules and reconciliations for all San Manuel non-gaming entities. The Staff Accountant – Non-Gaming assists in monthly journal entries, prepares balance sheet account reconciliation, and records multiple transactions as needed. This position disseminates information and provides additional analysis, as needed. The Staff Accountant – Non-Gaming also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Representative supports the recruiting process by providing support functions throughout the hiring life-cycle. The TA Representative contributes to the overall success of the of the Talent Acquisition team by providing a high level of customer service, administrative support, and by performing transactional business processes throughout the recruiting process. The TA Representative will work in a high volume, fast paced environment and must be detail oriented with a high focus on candidate experience and customer service. This position will require you to learn and deliver pre-employment support services such as interview scheduling, pre-employment screening, new hire on-boarding and other administrative tasks associated with successfully supporting a high volume recruiting organization. The Talent Acquisition Representative must have a high level of ownership, accountability and a roll up the sleeves attitude to accomplish deliverables within required timelines.
Under the supervision of the IT Operations Supervisor, the Service Desk Analyst II provides quick resolutions to end-user IT issues and requests. This includes identifying, writing, and enacting Service Desk scripts, help aids, guides, and online solutions for common end-user problems. This role addresses issues escalated due to complexity and provides informal training on the use of personal computers (PCs) and associated adjuncts. The Service Desk Analyst II provides full-scale user support, including addressing over-the-phone and walk-in requests, utilizing screen sharing or remote-control options, and facilitating live chat or email support. In addition, the Service Desk Analyst II delivers training to the Service Desk Analyst I role, and acts as an escalation point prior to Level II & Level III support.
