HISTORY

Archaeological studies have shown that for 600 years, hot artesian waters rich in minerals bubbled to the surface to form a lush oasis that served as a respite for weary  travelers. As early as 1857, journal entries show that a settler recorded the discovery of our site as a place to rest, marked by two palm groves. In 1909, the US Army Camel Corps of Engineers surveyed the area and identified the location as “two bunch of palms.”Two Bunch Palms has been in operation since the 1940's and was known as a discreet hideaway for Hollywood celebrities, notorious historic gangsters and those seeking healing through its unique mineral lithium rich hot springs.

ABOUT

Two Bunch Palms is a 68-room boutique hotel located in Desert Hot Springs.  It’s about a 15 minute drive from Downtown Palm Springs and a 2 -hour drive from Los Angeles. The property is famed for its lithium-rich mineral hot springs. The water has proven to have many healing benefits and has helped to sustain a lush ecosystem in an otherwise barren desert. The property itself sits on about 72 acres. Many of the rooms are clustered throughout the property and the emphasis of the experience is largely outdoors.

VISION

Two Bunch seeks to redefine itself as a contemporary wellness destination. The wellness segment is growing exponentially and the hospitality world has not yet fully caught up. There is also a growing demand for an experience that allows guests to “disconnect to reconnect.” We are so inundated with technology and with the tedium of our daily lives, Two Bunch is designed to encourage guests to slow down.  We encourage our guests to define what wellness means for themselves. Some guests come out and spend their entire stay in the waters, where others will opt to eat healthy, partake in our enrichment programs, book spa treatments and do the local hikes out in Joshua Tree. Regardless, we want our guests to understand that the wellness experience is whatever you make of it.
