In 2006 Widewaters sold off much of their holdings in office buildings and decided to broaden their development into other markets and areas which changed our direction and emphasis. We changed our name to Widewaters Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. and have expanded the amount and type of services which now includes Building Automation Systems.
Widewaters has been in the business of developing, installing and managing Energy Management and Building Automation systems since the early 80’s with systems like Solidyne, ASI, ASIC, Novar, and Alerton to name a few. Having developed and installed controls for over 3.5 million square feet of office space, it was natural for us to take on Trend Controls as a dealer for the majority of New York State.
With a worldwide distribution and support network in more than 50 countries, Trend Control Systems feature a wide variety of solutions for your unique building. You’ll find Trend Products in high-rise buildings, large commercial and industrial facilities, schools, hospitals and airports. Trend Control Systems also easily integrate into other building systems, including lighting, fire and security/access. Trend is part of a company you already know and trust—and today they are part of an even bigger organization. Trend owns and represents Novar's established product line. This line was acquired by Honeywell International in 2005. Honeywell is a $26 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader serving customers worldwide with their control technologies for buildings, homes and industry.
Through the established Novar distribution network, Trend is expanding its development in the United States. As the Owner of Novar and another well known Building Automation system, Alerton, Trend has a support network that is well developed and large. We have taken on the Trend line because of its open protocol support of XML, OPC, LON, BACnet and MODBUS systems. It utilizes a state of the art user interface that is 100 percent internet based.
Right down to the controller level, graphics are stored locally and can be accessed with any internet browser with no special software. The controllers also act as a server making it simpler to integrate into an existing broadband Ethernet network system.
We presently have a system installed in Kinderhook, NY and The Lodge at Woodcliff in Rochester and are working at producing larger systems in Liverpool, NY, downtown Syracuse, Boston, MA and Washington, DC.
