Job Overview

The Table Games Assistant Shift Manager will work closely with the Table Games management team to manage the casino floor, ensuring superior customer/team member service and compliance with all gaming and company regulations and procedures to maximize company revenue.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assists in the process of interviewing, selecting, training, and developing team members through coaching and mentoring in accordance with the Expectation Guide. Foster an environment of open communication and address team members' concerns in a timely and fair manner.
  • Works closely with the Table Games management team to enhance department effectiveness by managing team members' skills, resources, and schedules and eliminating excessive and unnecessary expenditures. Ensure projects and assignments are completed in a timely manner while maintaining service and product quality. As necessary, recommend changes in staffing or equipment.
  • Ensures Team Members comply with the rules, regulations, and directives of the Illinois Gaming Board and established Wind Creek Hospitality internal controls and procedures.
  • Ensures all team members are cordial and courteous to all patrons and fellow team members.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with guests, attending to their needs, inquiries, and complaints in a timely manner and with the best possible service. Per company policy, refers guests to the Director of Table Games for decisions requiring higher authority.
  • Monitors customer rating and team member comping. Ensures comping is always within company guidelines.
  • Oversees the overall integrity of gaming and equipment. Monitors for irregularities or deviations from established procedures. Ensures table limits and rack counts in High Limits accurately reflect fluctuations in business levels. Pays particular attention to large play. Maintains control of cards, dice, and keys to ensure they are accounted for at all times.
  • Possess working knowledge of the player tracking system as well as all department and company policies and procedures.
  • Consistently supports management directives and decisions.
  • Immediately reports violations of any regulatory requirements and/or any actual or suspected irregularities to the Director of Table Games.
  • Understands the parameters and boundaries of position, exercising good judgment, referring situations to Director– Table Games.
  • Ensures strict adherence and enforcement of the Illinois Gaming Board (SEP) Self-Excluded Program.
  • Coordinates decisions/instructions in the event of a property emergency, including fire, power outage, bomb threat, elevator malfunctions, etc.
  • Interacts with the Surveillance Department, advising them immediately of any possible problem areas.
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the relieving Shift Manager – Table Games.
  • Maintains a positive rapport and interaction with other departments.
  • Work on actual projects or services to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field AND two (2) years Table Games Management experience– required
    • OR Four (4) years’ experience in a Table Games Management position– required
    • OR Three (3) years’ experience in a Table Games Management position with Wind Creek Hospitality– required
    • OR Minimum two (2) years of Table Games Supervisory experience - required
  • Five (5) years of table games experience– required
  • Knowledge of at least four (4) core games, including but not limited to Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and Baccarat; a skills test will be required and administered – required
  • Working knowledge of Title 31 compliance
  • Surveillance and observation of games, while ensuring excellent customer and team member relations.
  • Ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction, work indoors, outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Ability to work with others, communicate well, receive direction; review your own work.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Ability to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, and receive direction when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
