Are you looking for an opportunity to excel and make a difference? Woodbine Group is looking to add an outgoing and motivated Hospitality Controller to our team!

Compensation: $90,000-$120,000, Télécommande Hybride, Temps plein

  • Responsible for the centralized accounting functions for a portfolio of hospitality properties.
  • Ensure compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing internal controls across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local tax requirements and ensures timely payment of all tax liabilities.
  • Lead and direct the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, receivables, payroll, general cashiering and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements within 5 working days following the last day of the month and oversee a meeting within 3 working days of the close to review statements with Group Controller, VP of Hospitality and General Managers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide Group Controller with all necessary reporting in support of weekly cash flow analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate hotel operations and train hospitality managers on fiscal responsibilities.
  • Communicate financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired outcomes.
  • Provide visionary, strategic and functional leadership on behalf of finance and accounting across the organization.
  • Function as administrator for key accounting systems and operating systems to include but not limited to M3, electronic purchasing, POS, and PMS.
  • Actively serve as a key member of the finance leadership team.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.

Special Projects:

  • Orchestrate new system implementations by managing both operational and accounting team members, assigning tasks, milestones and measuring team performance. This includes but is not limited to the implementation of a Procure-To-Pay platform, Insight (M3) a Business Intelligence and Budget Solution and a Labor Management solution before the end of 2024.
  • Using M3 build all required financial information to build P&L statements and all other required structure for new properties.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate emerging and existing software technologies to improve accounting efficiencies, speed and accuracy of reporting. Complete ROI on potential systems.

Compliance:

  • Responsible for all required licenses and certificates. Ensure timely renewal payments and complete all applications for new licenses. Maintain all files and records related to licenses, permits, certificates etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospitality contracts including but not limited to franchise and management agreements. Maintain all required records and files.
  • Function as point of contact for all credit card processing solutions. Complete VARs and applications on behalf of properties as required. Maintain complete records of all merchant accounts, IDs, processing agreements etc.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have 4-5 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor’s accounting degree required.
  • Previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a centralized hospitality accounting environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be a proven leader and motivator.
  • Ability to assemble a team to include defining roles and responsibilities to monitoring and review.
  • Working knowledge of M3, Insight, Opera, ONQ, multiple POS systems.
  • Must be flexible and able to work weekends.
  • This is a Hybrid position and must be able to work in the office weekly
