Pool Attendant

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepare all drinks for bar customers. Cocktail servers and food servers while providing gusts with professional, efficient service and quality-made beverages. Maintain Pool areas organize.

Job/Shift Requirements:

This is a seasonal position from April-October.  Shifts would be during pool hours:  11am-8pm; 1-9pm

Physical Requirements:

1. Standing/Walking:  Constantly.  Various surfaces including carpet, tile, and rubber mats.
2. Crouching (Bend at knees):  Frequently. Serve drinks at table, lift kegs, stock liquor and other supplies.
3. Stooping (Bend at waist):  Constantly. Stock supplies, mix drinks, obtain supplies.
4. Twisting (knees, waist, neck): Frequently. Take orders, maneuver through crowds, and serve orders.
5. Balancing: Constantly. Handle trays of food or beverage; hold glasses and other beverage containers behind bar
6. Reaching (Overhead/extension):  Frequently. Obtain overhead supplies. Serve at arm’s length.
7. Fingering/Feeling: Constantly. Write, cash handling, cash register, adding machine, and drink garnishes
8. Pushing/Pulling:  Occasionally. Move chairs, tables. Average weight: 10 lbs. force. Maximum weight: 20 lbs. force.
9. Lifting/Carrying:  Constantly. Beer tubs, food and beverage tray, ice buckets, refuse containers, supplies, beer kegs. Average weight: 20 lbs. Maximum weight: 160 lbs. (assisted with handcart or co-worker)

Working Environment:

1. Interior of Hotel, in all areas of the hotel.
2. Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
3. Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
4. Exposure to food items and beverages.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

Essential:

1. Prepares /deliver all beverage mixers to recipe beverages to guests.
2. Promotes and up-sells liquor and food.
3. Must be completely familiar with all the different kinds of liquor, recipes and prices of drinks, proper glassware and garnishes.
4. Follows guidelines established in regard to age identification for suspected minors and when dealing with an intoxicated customer
5. Must be familiar with cash handling procedures to include proper discounting. Micros system, bank procedures and tip policies
6. Must be able to provide amazing hospitality in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
7. Must be over legal age to pour drinks in TEXAS
8. Two years relative experience required.

Basics:

1. Attend required meetings.
2. Keep work areas clean and organized
3. Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees. 
4. Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
5. Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
6. Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.
7. Must be able to maintain a great attitude during stressful situations
8. Ability to multitask (Prep bar, stock bar, take orders, make drinks, run food, bus tables,etc)

Qualifications:

• Hotel Operations or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Communicates effectively with others.
• Works productively with a team
• Effective multitasking skills
• Composure and patience under pressure
• Skilled in working with multiple computer programs.
• TABC and Food Handlers Certifications.
