Accounting Clerk

As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Responsibilities 

• Receive, verify, and process invoices and payment documents, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures 
• Maintain the general ledger, update vendor files and numbers, and prepare batches of invoices for daily data entry 
• Bill and credit accounts within the accounts payable system, including processing journal vouchers and FedEx or UPS transactions 
• Act as a liaison between departments and vendors, resolving billing issues and ensuring funds are available for purchases 
• Provide administrative support for efficient office operations, including reviewing electronic direct invoices for accountability and weekly balancing, and filing all approved invoices 

Qualifications 

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices 
• Specialized training in specific aspects of job functions or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks 
• Prior Accounts Payable experience preferred 
• Above average PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized accounting skills are required 
• Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on accuracy in handling confidential information
