Our accounting team oversees the financial processes of the organization and supports the larger team in providing an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Your contribution helps ensure guests have an enjoyable stay.

What will I be doing?

As the Accounting Manager you are responsible for preparing the weekly operational reports, assisting the Director with monthly financial statements, and providing analysis necessary for management to make effective decisions regarding, operations, labor and other expenses to stay in line with budget and forecasts. This position will oversee both the accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles for two properties. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Accounts Receivable
    • Coordinate the direct billing cycle/ functions.
    • Review charges for accuracy and identifies any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
    • Ensures a timely and accurate response to all client, associate, and vendor requests.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Review and ensure all AP invoices are captured and coding is correct, etc.
    • Supervise the work product of the accounting clerk and provide training, as required.
    • Complete MS Dynamics AP module reviews and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
  • Payroll
    • Ensure payroll is processed bi-weekly payroll and all payroll journals are captured.
    • Prepare and remit all payroll taxes (e.g. WSIB, EHT) and reconcile all benefit premiums.
    • Ensure creation and distribution of the Daily Labour Report.
  • Cashbook
  • General Ledger
  • General Accounting
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, and prepare month-end journal entries.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparing month end binders with back-up documents.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with the preparation and distribution of monthly Financial Statements.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with internal and external audits, and preparation of annual budgets.
  • In the absence of the Director of Finance, oversees the day-to-day operation of the department, including staff, transactions and system entries.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Finance or General Manager.
  • Performs the duties of an MOD, as required and scheduled.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance/accounting preferably within hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of financial/accounting procedures, reporting and financial mgmt.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to continuously improve and help others improve
